Position 76R1L noted on back, recut once at top and bottom, tied by red "Paid/U.S. Mail/City Delivery/1" New York City carrier department circular datestamp, with framed "B/U.S. Mail/4P.M./Delivery" handstamp on Jan. 20, 1857 folded letter to Bible House, Extremely Fine, signed Ashbrook

III (26), tied by ink lines created by rolling the rim of datestamp, "Rough & Ready Cal. Mar. 3, 1858" circular datestamp on cover to East Brookfield Vt., end stamp at right creased and slightly torn from placement along edge, otherwise Fine, scarce mixed-issue combination for 10c rate, ex Knapp and Dr. Polland
