EXTREMELY FINE GEM. A SPECTACULAR MINT NEVER-HINGED EXAMPLE OF THE 6-CENT 1890 ISSUE, GRADED SUPERB 98 JUMBO BY P.S.E. — THIS IS THE HIGHEST P.S.E. GRADE WITH THE JUMBO APPELLATION. ONLY ONE STAMP GRADES HIGHER.
With 2016 P.S.E. certificate (Superb 98 Jumbo). This is the only example at this lofty grade, with just one higher (at Gem 100, offered in Sale 1061, lot 3652). While that Gem 100 is also truly superb, the Jumbo margins of this 98J stand out dramatically.
6c Brown Red (224). Mint N.H., lovely color, wide and balanced margins, natural gum wrinkle mentioned only on most recent certificate (which also upgrades the old grade), Extremely Fine, with 2008 P.F. certificate (XF 90), with 2025 P.S.E. certificate (XF 90 Jumbo)

With 1995 and 2022 P.F. certificates (Superb 98). By was of comparison, P.S.E. has graded only three at 98 and three higher (at 98J).
