3c Purple (221). Mint N.H., rich color on bright paper, choice centering, Extremely Fine, with 2012 P.F. certificate (XF 90)
4c Dark Brown (222). Original gum with faint trace of disturbance (not noted on P.F. certificates), intense shade and proof-like impression, choice centering with wide margins, Extremely Fine Gem, ex Curtis, with 1993 and 2007 P.F. certificates, latter as "previously hinged" (XF-Superb 95), with 2007 P.S.E. certificate stating "slightly disturbed o.g." (DOG, Superb 98; SMQ $1,250 as hinged 98)
5c Chocolate (223). Mint N.H., deep rich color on post-office fresh paper, wide margins, Extremely Fine, with 2004 and 2013 P.F. certificates (XF 90)
6c Brown Red (224). Mint N.H., lovely color, wide and balanced margins, Extremely Fine, with 2008 P.F. certificate (XF 90), the certificate grade does not convey the quality of this Mint N.H. Gem
8c Lilac (225). Mint N.H., pretty pastel shade, unusually choice centering, Extremely Fine, with 2019 P.F. certificate (XF 90)
30c Black (228). Original gum, h.r., intense shade, well-balanced margins, Extremely Fine, with 1991 P.F. certificate
90c Orange (229). Original gum, lightly hinged, vivid color, Extremely Fine, with 2005 P.F. certificate
