3c Brown Rose, First Design (56). Two, original gum, h.r., Fine
1c Ultramarine (63a). Brilliant color, complemented by blue cork cancel, tear at top left, otherwise Very Fine, in his 1c book, Don Evans devotes almost an entire column (p. 33) to a discussion of the Ultramarine shade, he notes it is "extremely scarce" and that apart from the Ultramarine and Indigo shades, "the remaining shades are comparatively plentiful", with 2017 P.S.A.G. certificate
3c Pigeon Blood Pink (64a). Well-centered, circular datestamp cancel, small toned spot at center and small tear at right, Very Fine appearance, with 2023 P.S.E. certificate
3c Rose (65). Exceptional margins and near mathematically perfect centering, fresh color, Holmes Hole Mass. datestamp, Extremely Fine Gem, a superb stamp in every respect, with 2023 P.S.E. certificate (Superb 98), only one used stamp grades higher

Complete calendar on 12 neatly arranged album pages, with dates below, clear strikes of circular datestamps showing every date of the year, including Feb. 29, range of shades, typical plating or calendar quality but many attractive and Very Fine appearing stamps are present, an impressive and desirable 3c 1861 issue calendar
24c Violet, Thin Paper (70c). Brilliant color nicely complemented by red New York grid cancel, gorgeous centering with wide and balanced margins
EXTREMELY FINE GEM. A STUNNING USED EXAMPLE OF THE 1861 24-CENT VIOLET ON THIN PAPER, CANCELLED IN VIVID RED AND GRADED XF-SUPERB 95 BY P.S.E. — THE HIGHEST GRADE AWARDED.
The 24c 1861 exists in four basic shades of Violet: Dark Violet (August 1861 trial printing, formerly Scott 60); Violet on Thin Paper (August-September 1861 regular issue, Scott 70c — the shade offered here); Pale Gray Violet (1861 regular issue, Scott 70d) and Blackish Violet (ca. 1863 printing, Scott 78c).
Ex Morton. With 2009 P.S.E. certificate (XF-Superb 95). This is the highest grade awarded and it is shared by only three others. We have offered two of the others and both are cancelled in black.
24c Violet, Thin Paper (70c). Lovely color complemented by three different colored cancels, including strikes of blue grid and Cincinnati circular datestamp along with red transit, nicely centered, Very Fine, a beautiful stamp, ex Jennings, with 1980 P.F. certificate
5c Brown (76). Rich color, wide and beautifully balanced margins, detailed impression, corner strike of blue target cancel leaves design clearly visible, Extremely Fine Gem, a stamp with wonderful eye appeal, ex Kirke and Morton, with 1990, 2003 P.F. and 2005 P.S.E. certificates (XF-Superb 95), only two grade higher (at 95J and 100)
5c Red Brown (75). Original gum, small h.r., lovely warm color, small corner crease at top right, light horizontal crease at center, Very Fine appearance, with 2008 P.S.E. certificate (VG-F 60), we are sure based on centering alone this would grade much higher
24c Dark Lilac (78 var). Deep dark shade which is close to the rare Blackish Violet (78c), cork cancel, Very Fine, the late Stanley Piller thought this was Blackish Violet and submitted it to The Philatelic Foundation as such, with 1994 P.F. certificate as Dark Lilac and Piller's pencil note "cert incorrect", Scott value as normal No. 78
24c Grayish Lilac (78a). Original gum, deep rich color, Very Fine and attractive, with 2002 (as block) and 2009 P.F. certificates
