1c Green & Black, Pan-American, Center Inverted (294a). Original gum which is slightly disturbed at center and with pencil notation, rich colors, faint horizontal crease and tiny thin spots
FINE APPEARING ORIGINAL-GUM EXAMPLE OF THE ONE-CENT PAN-AMERICAN INVERT.
According to Johl, the 1c Pan-American Inverts were found in at least four different post offices around the country soon after release of the issue in May 1901, including Bessemer Ala., Richmond Va., Utica N.Y. and Connecticut. Most examples are off-center and/or have disturbed gum.
With 2008 P.F. certificate stating the small faults and "previously hinged".

EXTREMELY FINE GEM. A TRULY EXCEPTIONAL MINT NEVER-HINGED EXAMPLE OF THE 4-CENT PAN-AMERICAN ISSUE, GRADED SUPERB 98 JUMBO BY THE P.F.
With 1992 and 2024 P.F. certificates (Superb 98 Jumbo). Advanced collectors of graded stamps are well familiar with the usual tight margins of the Pan-American issue. While there are healthy populations of the issue at the grade of 95, including the 4c, finding an example in the grade of 98, especially with Jumbo margins is exceedingly difficult. This 98J is the highest grade awarded by the P.F. with none equal. The P.S.E. Population Report lists one at this grade (realized $7,500 hammer in our Sale 1209) and two higher, including the Gem 100 which realized $18,500 hammer in our Sale 1206 and the 100J which realized $28,000 hammer in our Sale 1199.

With 2022 P.F. certificate (Superb 98). This is the highest grade awarded by the P.F. By way of comparison, P.S.E. has graded only one higher (at 98J).

EXTREMELY FINE MINT NEVER-HINGED BOTTOM POSITION PLATE BLOCK OF TEN OF THE 10-CENT PAN-AMERICAN ISSUE.
The bottom plate block is the only position where both plate numbers are shown; the top position only shows the Yellow Brown plate number for the frame. We have offered perhaps a half dozen unduplicated plate blocks showing both plate numbers.
