VERY FINE. AN EXTRAORDINARY AND UNIQUE PROGRESSIVE DIE ESSAY OF THE $2.00 1902 ISSUE. ONE OF THE MOST OUTSTANDING OF ALL BUREAU ISSUE ESSAYS AND PROOFS.
This is the only recorded die essay for the $2.00 1902 Issue. It is described correctly in Brazer as Dark Blue ("unique"), but the Scott Catalogue still incorrectly describes the color as Black (even though the Scott illustration is in Dark Blue from this impression).

With 1980, 1998 P.F. and 2007 P.S.E. certificates (Superb 98). Only one stamp grades higher (at 98J) and one equals this grade.

EXTREMELY FINE GEM. A BEAUTIFUL MINT NEVER-HINGED GUIDE LINE PAIR OF THE 4-CENT HORIZONTAL COIL, SCOTT 350, GRADED XF-SUPERB 95 BY P.S.E..
According to Johl (Vol. 1, page 153), this coil was issued approximately eighteen months after the horizontal coil Scott 354 and was only in use for a short period of time.
Ex Hoffman. With 1999 P.F. and 2008 P.S.E. certificates (XF-Superb 95). Only one guide line pair grades higher (at 98) and one shares this desirable grade.
