Skull & Crossbones Fancy Cancels on 1c Bank Note Stamps. Seven 1c Bank Note stamps, including Nos. 145, 156 and 206, each with reasonably clear strike of the fancy cancel, including Skull & Crossbones in Coffin of Pittsburgh, one from Stoneham Mass., each with small fault but all appear Fine-Very Fine, each with P.F. certificate
1c Ultramarine, H. Grill (134). Unused (no gum), bright color, clear grill points, Fine, with 1988 P.F. certificate
12c Dull Violet, H. Grill (140). Clear grill in bottom right corner of stamp, unobtrusive blue datestamp cancel, couple short perfs at left not mentioned on certificate, appears Fine, with clear 1985 P.F. certificate
12c Dull Violet, H. Grill, End Roller Grill (140 var). Clear grill covering the entire right quarter of the stamp, centered to left but this actually enhances the visibility of the grill in the white margin at right, rich color, cork cancel, Very Good and a rare variety, we have offered only two others since keeping computerized records in 1993, with 1969 P.F. certificate
90c Carmine (155). Brilliant color on bright paper, Jumbo and beautifully balanced margins, bold cork cancel
EXTREMELY FINE GEM USED EXAMPLE OF THE 90-CENT 1870 NATIONAL BANK NOTE COMPANY ISSUE.
Ex Floyd and Hall. With 1988 (copy for a pair), 1992 P.F. and 2015 P.S.E. certificates (XF-Superb 95 Jumbo). Only one used stamp grades higher (at 98) and two share this grade.
30c Gray Black (165). Unused (no gum), crisp impression on bright paper, well-centered, Very Fine
90c Rose Carmine (166). Disturbed original gum, lovely bright color and attractively centered, Very Fine and choice, with 1983 P.F. certificate
10c Brown, Without Secret Mark (187). Unused (no gum), rich color, wide margins, fresh and Extremely Fine, with 1991 P.S.E. and 2005 and 2006 P.F. certificates (latter VF-XF 85)
90c Carmine (191). Original gum, barely hinged (if at all), brilliant color, very well-centered, Very Fine and choice, ex Silver Lake, with 1991 (as Mint N.H.) and 2004 P.F. certificates
90c Carmine, Imperforate (191P5; formerly 191a). Horizontal pair, original gum, large even margins, rich color, Very Fine, light pencil on gum leaves slight indent (not noted on certificate), with 2009 P.F. certificate
7c Scarlet Vermilion, Special Printing (196). Without gum as issued, vibrant color, small scuff at left, otherwise Fine, our census of Scott 196 at siegelauctions.com/census/us/scott/196 contains 90 examples, census no. 196-UNC-90, with 2024 P.S.E. certificate
30c Orange Brown, Imperforate (217P5; formerly 217a). Horizontal pair with top right sheet margin, full margins other sides, original gum, Very Fine, with 1972 P.F. and 2024 P.S.E. certificates (VF 80)
1c-90c 1890 Issue, Imperforate (219P5-229P5; formerly 219a-229a). Complete set of pairs, including No. 219D and also with two each of 4c and 5c (different shades), original gum, large margins to full including right sheet margin on 90c, few small imperfections including 6c small tear at left, one 5c thin spots

1890-93 Issue Imperforate Pairs (219DP5/224P5). Eleven, including 219D, 220, 222 (3), 223 (3) and 224 (2), also including 224TC5 in Olive Green, original gum, some h.r., few small faults, Very Fine appearing group
2c Lake, Imperforate (219DP5; formerly 219Da). Top imprint, plate no. 8 and letter "B" block of twelve, unused (no gum), large margins, bright shade, Very Fine, Scott value as plate block of ten and pair, though Scott for some reason does not apply any premium for the plate block
2c Carmine, Cap on Both "2"'s (220c). With top part imprint selvage, stamp Mint N.H., glowing color
VERY FINE AND DESIRABLE MINT NEVER-HINGED EXAMPLE OF THE 1890 ISSUE WITH CAP ON BOTH "2" AND TOP IMPRINT SELVAGE.
Only a small percentage of 2c 1890s were printed from Plates 245 and 246, which contained the Cap on Both 2's variety. Examples in Mint N.H. condition are rare — only seven others were located with Power Search and this is the only example we have offered with imprint selvage. With 2012 P.F. certificate.
3c Purple, Imperforate (221P5; formerly 221a). Mint N.H. bottom imprint and plate no. 21 block of ten, large margins, rich color, Very Fine and choice, with 2005 P.S.E. certificate, unpriced in Scott as a plate block, Scott value as five pairs
3c Purple, Imperforate (221P5; formerly 221a). Top imprint and plate no. 21 block of twelve, unused (no gum), large margins to full, unusual color that reminds us of a varnish impression, Very Fine, unpriced in Scott as a plate block
