3c Orange Brown, Ty. I, II (10-10A). Two small binders from the Dr. Amonette estate, approximately 64 stamps, one per page or card, each with plating and color comments and some with more detailed descriptions, outstanding range of colors in the Orange Brown family, all with handstamp cancels and some in color, mostly three or four margins, none are Jumbos but many are Very Fine at least and some are described on pages as Extremely Fine, these were mounted one to a page because it was believed they were better copies, some with small flaws but a great many are sound, overall Very Fine group with many attractive stamps, Scott value as all No. 10 exceeds $10,000

3c 1851 Issue, Off-Cover Balance (10-10A, 11-11A). Balance of approximately 60 used stamp on stock pages, the vast majority are Nos. 10-10A, as well as some No. 11A Experimental Orange Brown and some later identified as 1852 and 1856 Orange Brown (11-11A), also a couple covers, nice range of shades in the Nos. 10-10A, a few with oxidation, Fine-Very Fine these are not from the Dr. Amonette estate but the consignor worked very closely with him and he vetted many of them, we recommend viewing our website PDF

3c 1851 Issue, Better Cancels (10A/11A). Ten stamps, at least four and probably five are No. 10A, the other half No. 11A, each with a better or interesting cancel, including fancy red, "V" in red, three different "Paid" or "Paid 3", triangle, others, couple with sheet margins, Fine-Very Fine and a very attractive group, one P.F. certificate for a No. 10A accompanies

Sale 1367, Lot 330, 3c1851-57 Group Lots

3c 1851 Issue, Certified Balance (10A/11A). Five used certified stamps, including No. 10A, appears unused at a glance but lightly cancelled in red, tight margins but clear all around, Very Fine, four No. 11A, each graded between VF-XF 85 and XF-Superb 95, the 85 has interpane margin and centerline, the 90 with blue circular datestamp, one 95 (by P.S.A.G.) with bottom right corner sheet margins, final 95 (by P.F.) in Brownish Carmine, Extremely Fine

3c 1851-57 Issues, Used Balance (10-11A, 25-26A). Extensive balance of used stamps from the Penguin collection, approximately 30 are imperforate and these include a few Gems, more than 90 perforated with some better perforated types, includes singles and multiples, many better items are sprinkled in, with fancy cancels, a few distinct Orange Brown perforated, sheet margins and centerline, a few unused, also two blocks of four and block of six No. 26, plus a piece with two strips of four, one with straddle-pane margin, some faults to be found but many are sound and attractive, viewing our website PDF is the only way to fully appreciate this lot

Balance of the Dr. Amonette 3c 1851-57 Collection. Miscellaneous grouping of different incomplete elements of Dr. Amonette's 3c material, hundreds of stamps, includes a group of approximately ten unused, one binder and envelope of some common shades, one stock book with pages by plate and a handful of stamps per page, some have notes and a few are Extremely Fine, set of Dr. Amonette printed cards with examples from each plate, two mini stock books with mounted stamps and shades including some 10-10A Orange Brown and one which appears to be Plum, two with British cancels, also containing a group of unused No. 26, also two envelopes of essentially junk, overall a lot of stamps and some useful material will be found

I-II, Cover Collection (10-10A). More than 40 covers in a binder, most are plated and a number of pairs are present as well, range of shades all in the Orange Brown family, many were vetted by Dr. Amonette and some are accompanied by his notes, a range of cancels with come colored, one "STEAM BOAT" and another "STEAM", nice condition with a great many that will retail in the $150-$200 range, Very Fine collection, also inlcudes three stampless covers and a No. 26 on a Flag Patriotic, see our website PDF for a complete scan, Scott value as all No. 10A approximately $8,000
