With 2006 and 2019 P.S.E. certificates (Superb 98). This is one of only four awarded this grade with just six higher.

Large to huge margins including huge right sheet margin, rich color, blue grid cancel and part of Louisville Ky. datestamp, intermediate impression, vertical crease at far edge of sheet margin (folded over on original cover), Extremely Fine, ex Hart, Boker and Gross, accompanied by cover from which the stamp originated, with 2015 P.F. certificate (XF 90 XQ), the "XQ" stands for "Extraordinary Quality"

5c Deep Red Brown (1 var). An exceptional quality example with four large to huge margins including part bottom sheet margin, outstanding color from an early impression, tied by blue grid cancel, matching "Syracuse N.Y. Aug. 30" (1847) circular datestamp on a bluish folded cover, Extremely Fine, a Gem early use of the 5c 1847 Issue at a time when prepayment using stamps was an uncommon practice, ex Baker, Boker and Frajola, with 2003 and 2015 P.F. certificates

5c Red Brown (1). Full and even margins, tied by red grid, matching "New-York Oct. 11" (1849) circular datestamp on folded letter datelined "Utica Oct. 11th 1849" to Utica N.Y., Very Fine, an unusual use, perhaps the sender was unaware of where they were, with 1991 P.F. certificate

Pa. 10 Apr. 16" integral-rate circular datestamp on folded cover to Frankfort Ky., docketing on back reads "Toppan, Carpenter & Co., 16 Apl. 1850", Extremely Fine, a wonderful cover with a connection to the printer of the 1851 issue, the U.S. Philatelic Classics Society census lists only three covers from Philadelphia to Frankfort (two with no images available), ex Field

EXTREMELY FINE GEM. A SPECTACULAR SHEET-MARGIN USED EXAMPLE OF THE 10-CENT 1847 ISSUE IN THE FINEST CONDITION ATTAINABLE. THIS IS GRADED SUPERB 98 JUMBO BY P.S.E. -- THE HIGHEST AWARDED.
Ex Wall. With 2000 P.F. and 2019 P.S.E. certificates (Superb 98 Jumbo). One of only five examples to achieve this grade, which is the highest awarded.

10c Black (2). Large even margins all around, beautiful crisp shade and impression, lightly cancelled by black grid, Extremely Fine, a marvelous stamp that we feel deserved better than the XF 90 P.S.E. grade it received, ex "European Connoisseur", with 2015 P.S.E. certificate (XF 90)
10c Black (2). Large margins to ample, tied by two strikes of red grids with traces of black ink in the cancels, matching "Raleigh N.C. Dec. 9" circular datestamp on small light blue piece, Very Fine and choice, with 1979 and 2010 P.F. certificates
10c Black (2). Positions 76-77R1, horizontal pair showing misaligned entries, large to full margins, fine impression, light strikes of red grid cancels and faint trace of ink at bottom right, tiny horizontal scissors-cut at top left just touches frameline, still Extremely Fine pair, the subject of misaligned entries was addressed by Wade Saadi in the August 2010 Chronicle, he surmises that the reason only five U.S. stamps prior to 1870 had framelines is because the siderographer had difficulty aligning the entries and, therefore, designs with ornamental frames produced a better appearance, ex Sweet, Wall and Mirsky, with 2000 P.F. and 2017 P.S.E. certificates (latter F 70 due to scissors-cut)
