1c Blue, Ty. II (7). Position 91R1E, bottom left corner interpane margins with centerline, huge margin at right and just clear at top, face-free circular datestamp struck mostly in margin, small faint thin at top right corner is barely detectable, appears Extremely Fine, quite striking
1c Blue, Ty. II (7). Position 30L1E, right interpane margin with centerline, top and bottom large, barely in at bottom, New York circular datestamp cancel with central slug, fresh and Fine

1c Blue, Ty. II (7). Plate 1E, Full margins to just in, bright color complemented by bold strike of red small Boston "PAID" grid, small thin spot and tiny edge tear at left, Fine appearance and a very choice and rare strike in red, which was used to cancel stamps at Boston briefly in July 1851
1c Blue, Ty. II (7). Position 50L1E, right sheet margin, other sides ample to clear, well-struck small Boston "PAID" grid cancel which was only in use for a few months in 1851, Very Fine and choice
1c Blue, Ty. IV-II (9-7). Positions 3-4R1L, combination pair, the right stamp without recut lines — the only Type II on Plate 1 Late — ample margins to touched at top, indistinct circular datestamp cancels, left stamp light internal wrinkle, Very Fine pair with the scarce non-recut Type II from Plate 1 Late

Positions 28-30L1E, horizontal strip of three with right interpane margin with part of centerline, other margins full to just in at top, blue grid cancels, outer stamps each with vertical crease, the one at right a bit heavy, Fine appearance, ex Newbury, Ashbrook plating initials on back
1c Blue, Ty. II (7). Position 5R2, showing plate bruise above "P", dark color, full margins all around, Extremely Fine, with 2003 P.F. certificate not specifying the plate variety

1c Blue, Ty. II, Plate 3 (7). Position 65L3, original gum, clear to large margins, deep rich color, remarkably fresh, small stain spot in left margin from unstable solvent or adhesive used to "fix up" the stamp in advance of its submission for a 2000 P.F. certificate, it held well for years but now shows, Very Fine appearance, a rare original-gum example from the desirable Plate 3, with 2000 and 2008 P.F. certificates, the latter stating the Plate 3 position and neither photo/certificate showing the stain or noting the problem
1c Blue, Ty. II, Plate 3 (7). Position 4R3, huge margins to just touched at bottom including part of sheet margin at top, intense shade and impression, in our 2010 sale of the Wagshal collection we mentioned a small tear at top center in margin only, however close examination this time around revealed no tear, Extremely Fine, ex Neinken and Wagshal
1c Blue, Ty. II, Plate 3 (7). Position 73L3, Large margins at sides, clear to just touched at top and bottom, tied to small piece by "New-York Paid Mar. 23, 1857" circular datestamp, Very Fine example of the 1c Ty. II from Plate 3
1c Blue, Ty. II, Plate 3 (7). Position 74L3, showing small surface cracks at right and bottom, red "U.S. Mail/City Delivery/1 Aug/1" carrier datestamp, ample to large margins, light blue shade, tiny minute margin tears at top visible under magnification, still Very Fine, ex Neinken and Wagshal
1c Blue, Ty. II (7). Balance of four singles from Plate 1E, Plate 3 (two stamps) and Plate 4, each plated on back, large margins to clear with none cut-in, interesting range of shades as these come from the different plates, the Plate 1E stamp with clear strike of red "paid" handstamp, that stamp with thin and creases, the Plate 4 stamp with corner thin (A.P.S. certificate), Very Fine appearing group with three from better plates
1c Blue, Ty. IV (9). Position 19R1L, huge margins to clear at top, including large portion of adjoining stamp at right, circular datestamp cancel and perfect bold strike of French entry double-circle datestamp, Extremely Fine, a beautiful stamp with a French cancel, ex Haas, with 1988 P.F. certificate
1c Blue, Ty. IV (9). Position 31R1L, large to huge margins including left interpane margin with centerline, lightly struck blue circular datestamp cancel, Extremely Fine
