2c Carmine (220). Mint N.H., brilliant color, perfectly centered with huge margins, Extremely Fine Gem, a superb stamp in every respect, ex "Scarsdale", with 2000 P.F. and 2004 P.S.E. certificates (XF-Superb 95)
2c Carmine (220). Perfectly centered with Jumbo margins, brilliant color, neat machine cancel, Extremely Fine Gem, a superb used example of this issue, with 2009 P.S.E. certificate (Superb 98 Jumbo), only one grades higher (at 100) and two others share this lofty grade
2c Carmine, Cap on Both "2"'s (220c). Mint N.H., radiant color, choice centering, slight red offset spots on gum are completely natural but for some reason noted on certificate
EXTREMELY FINE. A BEAUTIFUL MINT NEVER-HINGED EXAMPLE OF THE 1890 2-CENT WITH CAP ON BOTH "2"'S.
Only a small percentage of 2c 1890's were printed from Plates 245 and 246, which contained the Cap on Both 2's variety. Examples in Mint N.H. condition are rare (only eight were located with Power Search), and of those surviving Mint N.H. stamps, only a handful are in high grades. With 2007 P.S.E. certificate (VF-XF 85). Only one grades higher (at 90 ex Whitman).
6c Brown Red (224). Mint N.H., bright color on post-office fresh paper, precise centering with wide margins, most recent certificate notes reperfed at bottom but we are not convinced, Extremely Fine appearance, ex "Sacramento", with 2011 P.F. certificate (XF-Superb 95), with 2023 P.S.E. certificate stating reperfed
10c Green (226). Mint N.H., rich color and choice centering, Extremely Fine, with 2005 P.F. certificate
15c Indigo (227). Mint N.H. with bottom "No." selvage, deep rich color, Very Fine, with copy of 1988 P.F. certificate for block of four
30c Black (228). Mint N.H., intense shade and impression, gorgeous centering with well-balanced margins, sharp proof-like impression
EXTREMELY FINE GEM. A SUPERB MINT NEVER-HINGED EXAMPLE OF THE 30-CENT 1890 SMALL BANK NOTE ISSUE.
With 2016 P.S.E. certificate (XF-Superb 95). Only three grade higher (two at 95J, one at 98). SCV $900.
30c Black (228). Mint N.H., detailed impression, Very Fine and attractive, with copy of 1997 P.F. certificate for block
30c Black, Imperforate (228a). Horizontal pair, original gum, huge margins including full imprint bottom sheet margin, Extremely Fine, with 2000 P.F. certificate
90c Orange (229). Mint N.H., bright vivid color, balanced margins on fresh paper
EXTREMELY FINE. AN OUTSTANDING MINT NEVER-HINGED EXAMPLE OF THE 90-CENT 1890 ISSUE.
With 2011 P.S.E. certificate (XF 90). Only seven grade higher and we have only sold one of them, back in 2010. We have not offered any in this grade since 2011.
90c Orange (229). Horizontal block of ten with natural straight edge at left, brilliant color, nice centering, New York registry oval cancel, some hinge reinforced perf separations, Very Fine, ex Curtis, Scott value as two blocks of four and two singles
