7c Black, Vertical Pair, Imperforate Between (639a). Original gum, top stamp with hinge mark, Fine, according to Gary Griffith, this variety was first reported in 1939, the postmaster in a small town near Cleveland was annoyed that several panes had some rows of perforations missing, he cut some apart by hand and then gave up, throwing them in a box which was later purchased by a stamp collector (rumored to be Karl Koslowski), it is believed that about 20 pairs and two blocks of four were purchased, it is also known with a Mobile Ala. precancel
9c Light Rose, Kans. Ovpt. (667). Mint N.H., vibrant color, near perfect centering, Extremely Fine Gem, with 1994 P.F. and 2024 P.S.E. certificates (Superb 98), only one grades higher

2½c Bunker Hill, Small Holes Variety (1056 var). Mint N.H. pair, neat Washington D.C. precancels, one with gap in precancel and the other without gap, Very Fine and choice example of this scarce coil, with 2017 P.F. certificate, Scott value without premium for the precancel line gap
4½c Hermitage, Coil, Small Holes (1059 var). Complete Mint N.H. roll of 500 in original Post Office Department cellophane packaging, the top label has a bit of foxing, Very Fine and rare complete roll, Scott values a joint line pair of the Small Holes variety at $450, total Scott value as 20 joint line pairs and 230 pairs is $17,050
$1.00 Black Violet (1294b). Two items, bottom right plate no. 32903 pair and single, Mint N.H., Fine-Very Fine, pair with 2013 P.F. certificate, Scott value as singles
15c John Paul Jones, Perf 12 (1789B). Mint N.H. with pencil "17" and initials on gum, rich colors

This issue was printed by the American Bank Note Company and perforated in three different formats: Perf 11 x 12 (Scott 1789), Perf 11 All Around (Scott 1789A) and Perf 12 All Around (Scott 1789B). It is believed that the USPS was unaware that there were different perforations. The Perf 12 All Around is by far the rarest.
