EXTREMELY FINE. A GORGEOUS AND VERY RARE MINT NEVER-HINGED SIDE PLATE BLOCK WITH LARGE FIVE-POINT STAR OF THE 2-CENT 1926 CANAL ZONE ISSUE. THIS IS THE FIRST WE HAVE OFFERED IN MINT NEVER-HINGED CONDITION.
We wish to emphasize how rare this plate block is in Mint N.H. condition. Power Search does not list another sold in our auctions since 1993 in any size. A choice centered hinged plate block of eight realized $6,000 in our 2009 sale of the "Whitpain" collection.
With 2023 P.S.E. certificate. Scott value as hinged plate block of six is $2,000.

Cuba Collection. In an album, useful array of Spanish issues, but most of the value in the U.S. Administration issues, with unused and used singles, blocks, plate number strips and blocks, including a full top plate block of No. E1, contains several Puerto Principe surcharges, some of these are undoubtedly fakes, but there are seven with good certificates, a few proofs, postal stationery, revenues, covers including Spanish-American patriotics, and more, somewhat mixed quality, would make an excellent start to a specialized collection of this challenging area
