Set of imprint and plate no. strips of five or larger, including three strips of six of 1c with imprint and letter on two and without letter on one (all different plate numbers), 219D imprint, plate no. 3 and letter "A" strip of five, plate strip of five and plate block of ten of No. 220, 3c plate strips of five and seven from two different plate numbers, 5c plate strip of ten comprising entire bottom row of the pane, 6c plate strip of seven, 8c and 10c plate strips of six and five from different plate numbers, some stamps Mint N.H., few perf separations or hinge reinforcements, few small faults
FINE-VERY FINE. A SCARCE ASSEMBLAGE OF IMPRINT AND PLATE NUMBER MULTIPLES OF THE ONE-CENT THRU 10-CENT 1890 ISSUE.
Scott Catalog lists these as imprint and plate number strips of five. Scott value as strips and singles.
1c Dull Blue (219). Bottom imprint, plate no. 90 and letter "Q" block of ten, original gum which is slightly disturbed on a few stamps, attractive centering, thin spot in selvage at left, still Very Fine

FINE-VERY FINE ORIGINAL-GUM PLATE BLOCK OF THE 3-CENT 1890 ISSUE.
We have offered only six hinged and three Mint N.H. plate blocks since keeping computerized records. Ex Petersen.
3c Purple, Imperforate (221P5; formerly 221a). Top left corner margin block of eight, original gum, lightly hinged, large margins, manuscript "Approved for color 2/4/90 PMG" at top left, faint overall toning, Very Fine and choice, ex Dr. Burrows, Scott value as normal pairs
5c Chocolate, Imperforate (223P5; formerly 223a). Block of four, large to huge margins including top part imprint sheet margin, unused (no gum), Extremely Fine, Scott value as two pairs

15c Indigo, Imperforate (227P5; formerly 227a). Top imprint and plate no. 22 block of twelve, large margins other sides, deep rich color, original gum, couple small thin spots from adherences
VERY FINE APPEARANCE. ONE OF THREE KNOWN PLATE BLOCKS OF THE 1890 15-CENT INDIGO IMPERFORATE, AND THE ONLY EXAMPLE FROM THE TOP POSITION.
The 15c was printed only from plate 22. Two bottom position plate blocks are recorded (ex Hall and ex Todd).
30c Black, Imperforate (228P5; formerly 228a). Top imprint and plate no. 24 block of ten, large margins to barely touched other sides, original gum, few stamps Mint N.H., two hinge remnants at right reinforcing small scissors-cuts, small thin spot above top right stamp, with manuscript "Approved for color PMG 2/8/90" in sheet margin
VERY FINE APPEARANCE. THIS IMPRINT AND PLATE NUMBER BLOCK OF TEN OF THE 30-CENT 1890 ISSUE PLATE BLOCK WITH MANUSCRIPT APPROVAL IS SURELY UNIQUE.
Multiples larger than a pair of the imperforate on stamp paper are rare — we have never offered anything larger than a pair. Plate blocks of the issued perforated stamp are also extremely rare. The stamp was issued Feb. 22, 1890 (EDU is Apr. 14), so the color approval was not finalized until two weeks before it was issued. Scott value $5,000 as pairs without premium for the plate block.
90c Orange (229). Original gum, deep rich color, choice centering with wide and balanced margins, Extremely Fine, with 1981 P.F. and 2017 P.S.E. certificates (OGph, XF 90)

VERY FINE APPEARANCE. THIS CORNER SHEET MARGIN BLOCK OF EIGHT OF THE 90-CENT 1890 ISSUE WITH MANUSCRIPT APPROVAL FOR COLOR IS LIKELY UNIQUE.
The stamp was issued Feb. 22, 1890 (EDU is May 16), so the color approval wasn't finalized until two weeks before it was issued. The largest imperforate multiple we have offered is a block of four. Scott value $5,800 as four pairs.
