Guam, 1930, [1c or 2c] Guard Mail, Vignette Only Essay on Smooth Thick Off-White Paper (M3-E2). Three, in Green, Black and Reddish Brown, 82 x 88mm, 56 x 83mm and 82 x 88mm respectively, Very Fine and very unusual, listed but unpriced in Scott, we would have described this as glazed paper, with two 1979 letters to and from the superintendent of the Guam Guard Mail who notes these were unknown to them but are "definitely the original Guam seal designs" which were also used for stationery and publications so their origin for stamp use is not confirmed, nevertheless an unusual group of items and correspondence

Philippines, 1903, Constabulary Red "O.B." Handstamped Ovpt. on $5.00 Dark Green (239 var). Tied by "Malolos, Bulacan, P.I. Apr. 5, 1906" postmark on package front to Manila, addressed to Col. Bandholtz, affixed to card, Very Fine and rare use of the 1903 $5.00 on cover, either with or without "O.B." overprint, a Power Search review found only one other use on a cover, which is ex Diamond and also had the "O.B." overprint (Sale 1060, lot 3155, realized $2,875 hammer), with 2025 P.F. certificate
