5c Red Brown (1). 29 singles and two horizontal pairs, range of shades, margins to in on at least one side, range of cancels including red grid, blue grid, blue circular datestamp, blue "Paid" lozenge, pen cancels, two are on piece, each has a fault, many appear Fine, few with certificates, Scott value as basic shade without premium for cancels
5c Red Brown (1). 13 used singles, all have four margins, range of shades including Dark Brown, Orange Brown, cancels include red grids, blue grids, blue circular datestamp, black, some faults that are mostly not clearly evident such as creases, Fine-Very Fine appearance, three with P.F. certificates, Scott value without premiums for better shades or better cancels
5c Red Brown, 10c Black (1-2). Balance of fifteen 5c and three 10c stamps, three of the 5c have full margins, the others are either tight or in on a side but several of these are at least clear all around, only one with a pen cancel, four with blue handstamp cancels and the rest red handstamp cancels, the 10c stamps with two red and one blue handstamp cancels, some small flaws to be found but overall Fine or appear so with a couple Very Fine, a desirable large group of 1847 stamps, SCV $8,960
10c Black (2). Four used singles, one with four margins, three with red grid cancels, one with pen and blue cancels, some faults, some almost Fine
1c-3c 1851 Issue, Accumulation. Substantial accumulation of more than 75 1c stamps on stock pages and a smaller group of 3c stamps, the majority of the 1c stamps are No. 9, also many No. 7 and a couple better types where we note a broken line but substantially cut in on other side preventing identification without plating, group includes pairs and two strips of three, the vast majority with handstamp cancels and also some pen, condition is mixed with margin issues or small faults to be expected, overall Fine or appear so, the 3c group with about ten stamps including a couple Orange Brown and an unused strip of No. 11 (color slightly faded), also one dramatic pre-printing paper fold (also color faded), Fine appearance
5c Red Brown (12). Accumulation of 12 used stamps, most have a margin touched or in but a couple are clear all around, one with interpane margin and centerline, all with handstamp cancels, slightly mixed condition with a couple small flaws to be found but overall Fine or appear so, SCV $9,000
10c Green, Ty. II, III (14-15). Accumulation of 42 used stamps on a stock page (one pair), many have four margins and a few with sheet margins, some are touched or cut in on a side, nearly all with handstamp cancels including a couple in red, some small faults no doubt can be found but many are Very Fine, overall an attractive group, SCV exceeds $6,000

24c 1861-66 Issue Study. Homemade album pages containing 169 stamps, five proofs, two "Specimens" overprints and four covers, tremendous range of shades such as many Steel Blue and other better, better cancels such as Hingham Bat, one page contains 15 stamps in a range of shades and each with San Francisco cogwheel cancel, the four covers are to England with different shades, proofs include 78P2 and 78P4 single and block of four, few appear unused, some faults, some Fine-Very Fine, a rare large group of the 24c stamp, an excellent opportunity to study shades or to make color charts, we strongly suggest viewing the website PDF

1861-66 Issue Specialized Study. Homemade album pages of used stamps and a few covers, including 10c, 12c, 15c, 30c and 90c, 12c includes plate scratches, one No. 77 with 2020 Crowe certificate as mount glazed gum, 30c includes set of all five colors of Atlanta Trial Colors, 71P2 and 14 singles, 90c includes a "Specimen" overprint and 24 singles in range of shades and with different cancels plus two Schernikows, some faults but some Fine-Very Fine, a rare assemblage
1867-68 Grilled Issues Study. Homemade album pages containing an amazing breadth of material, the first page alone contains an 84, 85B split grill plus several normal and an 85E, the second page contains nine examples of 85 (five with certs, one or two suspect), there are then multiple pages devoted to the E and F Grills including what may be at 87 with original gum, 90 with disturbed gum (1999 P.F. certificate), several others throughout the album also stand a decent shot at being unused such as No. 99 (no gum, 2001 P.S.E. certificate), massive duplication throughout such as 25 examples of No. 100, six of No. 99, 15 of No. 95, 27 of No. 96, one of 101, also includes 93a on cover with Crowe certificate (we have our reservations on this item), many others also have much duplication, some may not be genuine but we guess this to be a small proportion of items, various cancels, generally faults but some are Fine, catalogue value is tremendous on this lot (the 100s alone catalogue $25,000), we strongly suggest viewing the website PDF

1870-88 Bank Note Issues, Accumulation. More than 115 stamps on stock pages, mix of unused and mostly used, a couple grills are present including No. 141 and then runs the range to the end of the Large Bank Note period, significant duplication of some higher denominations including eleven 12c, twelve 15c, eight 24c, six 30c with a few unused, thirteen 90c Carmine, seven 90c Purple, most of the last issues are unused, mixed condition but careful review will yield many attractive and Fine-Very Fine stamps, best appreciated by reviewing our website PDF

2c-50c Columbian (231-240). Very Valuable Stock of Newspaper Stamps. Approximately 320 stamps neatly arranged in one stockbook, begins with thirteen of the 1865-75 large format; 1875 Continental complete to $1.92 less the 84c with multiple examples such as seven 12c, two 24c, three 36c, two 48c, two 60c, two 72c and four 96c, also one $60.00 values is included; there are a few Special Printings which seem to be correctly identified; the 1879 American Bank Note series is entirely complete, again less the 84c with exceptional duplication of better values such as six 12c, five 24c, two 60c, three $3.00, $6.00, three $9.00, one each of the $12.00, $24.00 and $48.00, three $36.00 and four $60.00; the 1885 American Bank Note "short set" is complete less the 72c and features blocks of four and eight of the 36c; there are a few low values of the 1894 First Bureau and one 24c as well; the 1895 Unwatermarked series is represented by three examples of the $5.00 in the unmistakable Ultramarine shade (the watermarked $5.00 was not issued in this color); finally, there are multiple sets of the 1895 Watermarked; there are probably no more than two dozen used stamps in the lot, the others are unused (no gum or regummed) to original gum, condition is quite mixed as one would expect for a stock of this magnitude, but still loaded with attractive Fine-Very Fine material, some reference material accompanies but not counted, an exceptional opportunity for the dealer or accumulator as concentrations of Newspaper Stamps in this depth are rarely seen, this has very high catalogue value

Collection on album pages, starts with 1875 Issue and includes multiple examples of some, many unused (no gum) or regummed, few may be 1875 Special Printings including 9c, nice group of 1879 Issue such as PR77 (faults P.S.E. certificate), PR78 and few other high values with original gum or disturbed original gum, few look like PR80, also includes the 1885 "short set", Bureau issue with watermarks well represented with some plate no. singles and multiple sets, some pages with notes but we would not rely on them as some are inaccurate, mixed condition but a worthwhile group which no doubt has high catalogue value
