EXTREMELY FINE GEM EXAMPLE OF THE 5-CENT 1847 ISSUE IN A VERY UNUSUAL SHADE. ESPECIALLY RARE WITH SUCH ENORMOUS MARGINS.
We have encountered very few examples of the first issue imperforate stamps with such large portions of the adjoining stamps. This characteristic is often found on more common stamps such as the 3c 1851 Issue and a few others from that issue, but multiples of the 5c 1847 do not exist to create such Jumbos.
Ex Matthies, Saadi and Gross. With 1986 and 1992 P.F. certificates.

Philip Wall recorded fourteen used 10c stamps (and one unused) with obvious corner sheet margins. Others can be plated to the position, but do not show significant sheet margins. Of the fourteen, nine are faulty. Two of the five sound stamps have one or two sides of the design cut into. Of the three sound four-margin stamps, one is pen cancelled, leaving only this stamp and one other available to collectors who want a sound, four-margin example with a handstamped cancellation.
