Mint N.H. horizontal pair, huge margins with framelines and design portions of surrounding stamps, Extremely Fine Gem, with 1998 P.F. and 2022 P.S.E. certificates (Gem 100; Carriers & Locals unpriced in SMQ), we are not sure why this did not grade 100J, Scott value as hinged singles
U.S. City Despatch Post, New York N.Y., 3c Black on Grayish (6LB1). Cancelled by orange-red "U.S. City Despatch Post Feb. 15, 9 O'Clock" Type I double-line circular datestamp with part of U.S. visible at bottom, large margins, small thin spot, Extremely Fine appearance, very rare, only one cover is recorded with the circular datestamp tying the stamp, perhaps two or three off-cover stamps exist cancelled in this manner, ex Ambassador Middendorf and Golden, with 2018 A.P.S. certificate
Wells, Fargo & Co. Pony Express, $2.00 Red (143L1). Full to ample margins showing all four framelines, heavily impressed blue San Francisco Running Pony oval datestamp, tiny stain at bottom, still Very Fine, with 2024 P.F. certificate

Wells, Fargo & Co. Pony Express, $4.00 Black (143L5). Clear part strike of blue Wells Fargo & Co. oval datestamp at bottom, defective with piece missing at bottom, still extremely rare, we record only five other used examples plus the two iconic covers, Scott value $12,500
Carriers and Locals Collection. Lighthouse album pages, actually starts with Postmaster's Provisionals with six examples of the New York provisional plus a single on cover, U.S. City Despatch Post including 6LB3, 6LB5, 6LB5b, 18L2 on part of cover, 117L4 on cover front only, nice group of Pony Express stamps such as 143L3 with Running Pony handstamp and 143L4 used, album ends with three examples of the 5c 1847 Issue, few suspect items as often encountered but the collector seems to have been very knowledgeable, overall a Fine-Very Fine and diverse group, viewing of the website PDF is strongly encouraged

10c Green on Buff Star Die entire, Die 11 (U33; UPSS 65). Size 7, knife 20, watermark 1, unused, small tear on backflap at left, still Extremely Fine, the UPSS Catalog states fewer than 25 examples exist of No. 65, which is the only number under the Scott U33 umbrella, with 2007 P.F. certificate
