New Orleans La., 2c Blue (62X1). Ample even margins, "Paid" cancel and New Orleans circular datestamp, bright and fresh, corner crease at upper left, Fine appearance
New Orleans La., 5c Yellow Brown on Off-White (62X5). Mint N.H., rich color and large margins all around, Extremely Fine, with 2024 P.S.E. certificate (XF 90, unpriced in SMQ), Scott value as hinged
5c Light Green, Stone 1-2 (1a). Huge margins, bright shade, cancelled by face-free blue datestamp, Extremely Fine Gem
5c Green, Stone 1-2 (1). Full margins, cancelled by complete strike of "BIG SHANTY/No. 7" two-line Georgia datestamp, Very Fine and choice, rare straightline used as a cancel

10c Dark Blue, Hoyer & Ludwig (2b). Large to huge margins including bottom sheet margin, deep shade, clearly struck "New Orleans La. 13 Feb." (1862) datestamp, Extremely Fine, a gem quality stamp and very scarce with the New Orleans datestamp (the city fell to Federal forces in late February 1862)
2c Green (3). Three full margins, close at bottom, bright shade, cancelled by Talladega Ala. datestamp, Very Fine, with 1972 P.F. certificate
10c Rose (5). Huge margins all around, "Richmond Va. Sep. 15, 1862" circular datestamp, Extremely Fine Gem
10c Rose (5). Full even margins, rich color (almost Deep Rose), Mobile Ala. double-circle datestamp, Very Fine, with 1972 A.P.S. certificate
10c Rose (5). Full to large margins, tied by lightly struck Greensborough Ga. datestamp on piece, faint gum toning, otherwise Very Fine

10c Milky Blue, "TEN" (9a). Large to huge margins including left sheet margin, face-free strike of blue "Richmond Va." dateless circle, Extremely Fine Gem, one of the finest 10c "TEN" singles used off cover we have encountered

10c Blue, Frameline (10). Huge margins with four complete framelines, margins well outside framelines at top and right including right sheet margin, the framelines at left and bottom are touched but complete, bold "Mobile Ala. Jul. 19, 1863" double-circle datestamp, the accompanying certificate mentions a "minor scuff on face" — we spent two minutes looking for it and are still not confident we see what they observed (imagined?)
EXTREMELY FINE. ONE OF THE FINEST 10-CENT FRAMELINE STAMPS EXTANT, WITH FOUR FULL FRAMELINES AND A SHEET MARGIN.

Confederate States Unused Balance (1/14). 12 unused stamps including original gum Nos. 2, 4 (large part), 6-8 and 14, no gum Nos. 1, 3, 5 and 11-13, almost universally large margins, fresh colors, a couple small flaws to be found but overall Very Fine-Extremely Fine or appear so, Scott value approximately $2,400
Confederate States General Issues Collection. Album pages of mostly unused, including Nos. 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 14, also two perforated, used No. 1, large margins to just in on a few, some unused (no gum), few small faults, Fine-Very Fine appearing group
Confederate States Unused Balance (6/14). 20 original gum stamps including some in pairs, bright colors and mostly large margins, fresh and Very Fine group
Confederate States Used Collection. Choice collection balance of off-cover used stamps mounted on album pages, a number better including Postmasters' Provisionals with 5c Mobile, two different 5c New Orleans and 5c Petersburg, others include No. 1 two singles and a pair, No. 2 several in very different shades, No. 3 (two), No. 4 (several), No. 8 (two), No. 9, range of Nos. 11-12 including a block and officially perforated, No. 14 (unused of course), others, range of attractive cancels, a few faults may be encountered but overall a Very Fine old-time collection balance from a collector who is one of the world's leading specialists in a different collecting area, he compiled these decades ago
