U.S. Collection, 1851-2000. Strong collection in multiple Lindner albums, the first album with nearly all the value, many highlights to be found therein, early issues mostly used including 1861 issue nearly complete with sound No. 72 (P.S.E. cert), 1869 Pictorials complete less No. 120, Bank Notes to 90c, Columbians complete with mix of used and unused in dollar values, 1894-98 mostly complete used including No. 263, Trans-Mississippi complete to the $1.00, starting with Pan-Americans it is mostly unused, range of Washington-Franklins, Panama-Pacific complete, later issues including 1922 complete and better like 599A and 634A, White Plains sheet, additional albums with an essentially complete collection to 2000, Back-of-Book includes C1-C6, Special Delivery, some Postage Dues, nice Parcel Post, Federal Hunting Permits appear complete, mixed condition on the earlier stamps with faults to be expected, condition improves in 20th Century, overall a worthwhile collection with strong catalogue value
U.S. Collection, 1845-1928. Scott National album with extensive collection beginning with No. 10X1 plus couple forgeries, few stampless covers including family of William Henry Harrison, 1847 issue Nos. 1 (three) and 2, some better 1851 including No. 7 plate crack and Nos. 13 and 16, 1857 issue largely complete (No. 39 with fake cancel), 1861 issue largely complete, 1867-68 Grills including Nos. 79, 83, 85C and 85E, E and F Grills complete with No. 95 large part original gum, 1869 Pictorials complete, 1869 Re-Issues showing several denominations, Bank Notes with a decent range of grills, some Postage Currency, Columbians complete mostly unused, pages of Columbian Exposition tickets, 1894-1902 Bureaus largely complete, Trans-Mississippi complete up to the $1.00 (top values used), 20th Century with a range of material including some Expo ephemera, Washington-Franklins with coils and large showing of booklet panes (including all positions for No. 499e), No. 498f A.E.F. booklet pane, No. 505 in blocks of six and four, five White Plains sheets (some with significant perf separations), later including some postal forgeries, ends in 1931, the early stamps are very mixed condition with faults and/or centering issues the norm, still lots of useful stamps and substantial catalogue value, worth review
Cut Squares Collection, 1853-1968. Neatly mounted collection in a deluxe Palo album, strong coverage beginning with first Nesbitt issue which has some used, thereafter all unused, obviously missing the rarities but lots of mid-hundred dollar cut squares present and some high-hundred dollar items as well, includes Back-of-Book, fresh condition, Very Fine collection worth review
United States Balance. Small group begins with 10X1 reprint, 241 regummed, 243 no gum, 245 disturbed o.g., 291 o.g., 327 o.g., group of used Columbians to the 50c, early airmails including two C3 and two C18, and approximately 50 duck stamps (mostly used, some on original licenses), mixed condition but generally Fine-Very Fine, worth a close inspection
Collection Balance, 1894-1974. Two thick albums and a stock book, the vast majority of the value is in a single Scott album which begins with a plate number study of early Bureau issues, Unwatermarked set nearly complete including Nos. 261 and 262 with bottom plate no., numerous 1c-2c 1894-98 imprint and plate no. strips, also a few higher denominations and a few Trans-Mississippi pairs, small collection of private vending and affixing perforations, extensive group of pages with perfins, each identified, page of Schermack control perfins, a few modern errors or varieties including No. 2194 "Lipstick" variety in a pane of 20 (Scott value $575), No. 2361a CPA stamp (Scott value $300) and the designs of No. 4770 in a strip of 24 with three of each design in two rows of 12 imperforate between the rows, Back-of-Book with unused Air Post C1-C6, block and pair of C3, plate blocks and two C10a panes, Air Post covers, Special Delivery complete used, used Officials less the State Dept. dollar values (which are present as card proofs), couple War Dept. plate blocks, Postage Due used, Offices in China with a handful unused and 1c, 2c and 5c on two separate pieces with Shanghai office cancels, Newspapers with seven large-format stamps, other Newspapers including one page of fakes, mixed condition and the Bureau plate no. collection was not selected for its centering, overall Fine balance with much useful material
Collection, 1851-1934. In two Scott Platinum albums, early issues used, 20th century a mix of unused and used, with useful Back-of-Book including Newspaper Stamps and Confederate States, medium and higher cataloguing stamps will be found, condition mixed, so viewing essential
Collection. In a Scott album, sparse in many places, but does have Nos. 1 and 2, Columbian Issue to $3.00, and 1922 Dollar value blocks, most in Crystal mounts, so we couldn't check condition, but likely it is mixed quality with Fine-Very Fine appearance, also includes some mint sheets
Collection. To 1980s in two Scott albums, generally used to 1930 and unused thereafter, lacking high values, but several medium priced stamps, Back-of-Book including Cut Square and Revenues, mixed condition
Accumulation. Eight albums or stockbooks, much is used, though some useful unused will be found, wide range including Back-of-Book, a few covers, mixed condition
Collection Balance. Several albums of material, including plate blocks of four beginning with No. 803, Revenues, album of Postal Stationery entires including No. U5 (Scott value $800), pages of mostly used Cut Squares, Postal Cards, mixed condition, nothing particularly valuable but overall Fine
Miscellaneous Accumulation. Mostly Back-of-Book and Possessions, unused and used, some plate blocks, mixed condition, overall a useful lot
Accumulation. In ten albums or stockbooks, much is modern mint, including plate number coils strips, though two albums have value in earlier stamps, which are in mixed condition
Classics Cancels Group. 57 used stamps, including No 26 with blue Wells, Fargo cancel, No. 63 with red Star in Circle, nice group of No. 65 with green cork, Stars, Negative "Union" in Star and few other better, few small faults, each selected by the owner for superior strike of the cancel, Very Fine strikes
Artist and Engraver Signed Plate Blocks. Extensive collection of more than 400 plate blocks in four White Ace cover binders, all signed in selvage by multiple contributors to the design including artists and engravers, Scott numbers between 564 and 1189 plus Back-of-Book, largely 3c-4c Commemoratives with some Definitive issues as well, Very Fine and fascinating assemblage which would be difficult to reproduce
Modern Errors Balance. 21, mostly imperforate pairs , including 966a, 1363b, 1833a, 1934a strip, 2146a block of four, C23a, C82a, few Mint N.H., Very Fine group
Postmaster General James A. Farley, Exhibit. 16-page single-frame exhibit plus some additional material, each page is neatly annotated and features stamps signed by PMG Farley, including of course Farley imperforates but also some other material as well, Very Fine and desirable exhibit which was awarded a Silver at APS Stampshow, see our PDF scan
Precancel Collection. Over 5,000, each on an individual display card, vast majority in 1908-32 issues, some earlier, such as three examples of No. 212 from Burlington, Vt., but very little later, some arranged by city, range of stamps used, including higher values and Back-of-Book, good variety but duplication should be expected, mixed condition, overall better than the usual precancel collection
Postal Stationery, Specimens and Essays Collection. Two albums/binders with material, both entires and some cut squares, begins with approximately 18 Universal Postal Congress entires and then Specimens make up most of the rest, including group of Columbian entires with a "Specimens" large envelope, range of others, also a group of essays and proofs including some patent reply cards, overall Very Fine and worth review
Sanitary Fairs Collection. Stamps and strong range of essays and proofs mounted on album pages, stamps include Nos. WV1-WV2, WV3, WV8, WV11-WV13, WV14 (small toned spot), essays/proofs for WV11-WV14 with singles, blocks and a range of about 20 Schernikow essays including five composite 10c-30c essays, nice condition and an attractive collection, Scott value for the stamps alone is more than $2,000
United States Mostly Used to 1929. On Minkus pages, begins with Nos. 1 and 2, followed by 7, 12, 13, 30A, 36B, 37, 38, 39 (regummed and thinned), 70, 71, 72, 76, 77, small selection of grilled issues, 112-122 Pictorials, Banknotes to the 90c values, 229 regummed, First Bureau to the $5.00, Columbian and Trans-Mississippi sets complete, No. 285 mint plate no. strip of five and No. 286 mint plate no. block of 10, 1902 Issue complete, mint White Plains sheet, and small selection of Confederates, some faults/reperfs to be expected, overall appears Fine-Very Fine
Stuck Down Balance. Stock book pages of unused stamps, each stamp affected by moisture, including 277P5 (defective), 276P5, 275P5, 274P5, few modern errors, some faults, patience and expertise in removing from the pages will be rewarded
Balance. Stock cards and stock pages of unused and used stamps, including No. 157 double paper, 179a (no gum), 207 with patent cancel, 832b, 143L2, few Guam such as E1, few small faults, Fine-Very Fine group
Small Graded Balance. Three Mint N.H. P.S.E. high-grade stamps, including Nos. 600 (pair, Superb 98), 656 (single, Superb 98) and 1054 (line pair, Superb 98), Extremely Fine Gems, with 2023 P.S.E. certificates, total SMQ $850
Extensions Balance. Two items: including Scott 156 with 2001 P.F. certificate as original gum and 2023 P.F. certificate as regummed, second is No. 260 with 1991 P.F. certificate as sound and 2023 P.F. certificate noting short tear in right margin, Very Fine appearance
Modern Issues. Three banker's boxes of White Ace albums plus a few other items, includes United States stamps from 1960's thru 2000s, also include United Nations with a decent number of booklets but also earlier issues such as No. 38, for the U.S. there are souvenir sheets and other issues, few earlier in one album, a Very Fine group and an excellent opportunity to extend the year range of your collection in one fell swoop
Modern Accumulation. Mostly in glassines, a large portion of the bulk in Commemoratives 15c and under, but there are higher values including Airmails, and we noticed a $1.00 pane of 20, also several booklets, a few in large quantities, Fine-Very Fine
Mint Sheets and Panes. Single album and a folder of mint sheets or panes, including Nos. 740-749 panes of 50 with some duplication, other somewhat earlier include Nos. 649, 717, 737, 739, many others from late 1930's to 1970's, fresh and Very Fine, the 740-749 set alone should meet our estimate
