CUBA, Puerto Principe, 1898-99, 5c on 8m Blue Green, "eents" (219b). Position 3, tied by greenish blue 1899 double-circle datestamp on small piece, Fine example of this scarce stamp, ex Thorne and Walsh, with 1972 P.F. certificate
CUBA, Puerto Principe Balance (177/200a). Group of 25 stamps including singles, pairs and strips, range of issues from Nos. 177 thru 200a, mostly used with a few unused, better items include No. 188a Inverted Surcharge, 190-191 with the Pos. 1 in gutter, others detailed by nine early 1970's P.F. certificates, nice condition with just a few small flaws, Fine group worth review

Used with Republic Issue 1c (three), 2c and 3c (227-229), tied by "Sagua La Grande Jun. 16, 1900" circular datestamps on registered Cuba 1c Green entire to Westport Wash., "Cuba. Havana" registry label (FX-HA1), affixed over 2c stamp, soldier's letter handstamp from Captain H. H. Bandholtz of 2nd U.S. Infantry at top left, registered handstamps, Havana and Jacksonville Fla. transit backstamps, label missing some perfs at top, still Very Fine and colorful use and a rare example of the Cuba registry label, Scott Catalogue records only 12 examples, Scott Retail for the label on cover
CUBA, 1899, 1c-10c Republic Issue (227-231). Strip of three of 1c and extra single of 10c, tied by target cancels on Sep. 9, 1899 registered 2c on 2c Green entire from the German Consulate to Frankfurt, Germany, with "Cuba. Havana" registry label (FX-HA1), sealed on back with three German Havana Consulate seals, label nicked at top left, a few small stamp flaws including strip creased from placement over edge of cover, opened for display, Very Fine appearance, a very rare example of the Cuba registry label, Scott Catalogue records only 12 examples, this is reported by Dr. Heimburger to be the earliest known use, Scott value for the label on cover
