1884, 5c Blue, Large Die Proof on India (U4P1). 81 x 53mm, with die no. C-114 at top, fresh and Very Fine
4c-10c Entires, Blue Inside (U7-U9, U14). Unused, few with slight soiling or wrinkling, last with central thin which has the unexpected positive effect of showing a trace of the blue inside, otherwise Very Fine
1889, 1c Greenish Blue, Postal Cards, Trial Color Plate Proofs on Card (UY3TC). Intact message and reply cards that have not been folded, rich color that is distinctly different from the Gray Violet used for regular printing, card with some slight overall toning, light waterstains, reply card with few toned spots
VERY FINE. THIS WAS FOUND BURIED IN THE OLD-TIME COLLECTION THAT FORMS COMPRISES MOST HAWAII LOTS IN THIS SALE. THESE PROOFS, PRINTED ON THE SAME PAPER STOCK AS THE ISSUED COLOR, MAY HAVE BEEN INTENDED TO CONFORM TO THE U.P.U. COLOR SCHEME.
