Position 94R4, irregular margins cutting in, deep Plate 4 shade, sharp impression, red town datestamp, corner crease in top right margin well clear of design, still Very Good, a scarce stamp and very attractive with the red datestamp cancel, with 1972 P.F. certificate, SCV $9,250
1c Blue, Ty. II (7). Position 1L1E, huge margins to clear including bottom right corner interpane margin with centerline and dot, beautiful Plate 1 Early color, neat strike of Mobile circular datestamp, Very Fine and choice, the Neinken book notes this is a swing position and that a small break in the outer line at top developed as the plate wore away, making it a Type IIIa (Scott 8A), we detect what could be a tiny break but still identify this as Type II, ex Eubanks
1c Blue, Ty. II (7). Position 91R2, a spectacular stamp from the bottom left corner of the right pane of Plate 2, large margins including enormous bottom left interpane margins showing edge of plate at bottom, cancelled by neat light strike of circular datestamp, lovely bright shade and sharp impression, Extremely Fine Gem, ex Emerson, Newbury and "European Connoisseur" (who acquired this in a 1964 H. R. Harmer sale for $425), with 2016 P.F. certificate
1c Blue, Ty. II (7). Plate 2, large to huge margins with part of adjoining stamp at left, bright color, New Orleans datestamp cancel, Extremely Fine, ex Newbury
1c Blue, Ty. IIIa-II (8A-7). Positions 41-52R1E, horizontal pair, right stamp has large margins including part of adjoining stamp at right, left stamp (Ty. IIIa) is ample to touched at left, grid cancels, bright Plate 1 Early shade, faint residual gum stains on back do not show thru, still Fine-Very Fine
1c Blue, Ty. IIIa (8A). Plate 4 (plated as Position 15R4), full margins to slightly in at top, light town datestamp, Fine
1c Blue, Ty. IIIa (8A). Plate 4, three large margins showing bits of adjoining stamps at top and right, cut in at left, dark shade, cancelled by New York datestamp with integral "Paid", Very Good

Position 100L1L, recut once at top, trace of red cancel (appears unused), enormous margins all around including full bottom right corner interpane margins with centerline at right, part of adjoining stamp at top, tiny corner crease at bottom right in sheet margin only which is of no consequence and is not mentioned on accompanying certificate
EXTREMELY FINE GEM. A SPECTACULAR AND SCARCE CORNER-MARGIN EXAMPLE OF THE 1851 ONE-CENT TYPE IV.

1c Blue, Ty. IV (9). Vertical pair, each recut once at top and bottom, huge margins including part sheet margin at left and parts of adjoining stamps at top and bottom, very light manuscript town cancel, Extremely Fine Gem, a wonderful pair, with 2010 P.S.E. certificate

Seven stamps representing all seven types of recuts, including twice at bottom and top which represents only two examples on Plate 1L, mounted on part of an album page with descriptions, each with four margins, all except for one with a handstamp cancel, Very Fine and attractive group, Scott value as all handstamp cancels

Positions 88-90/98-100R1L, block of six, five stamps recut once at top, top left stamp recut once at top and bottom, huge margins all around including bottom right corner sheet margins and parts of five adjoining stamps, bright shade, bold strikes of "Pleasant Run Tex. EXTREMELY FINE GEM. AN ABSOLUTELY STUNNING USED BLOCK OF SIX OF THE 1851 ONE-CENT IMPERFORATE TYPE IV FROM THE BOTTOM RIGHT CORNER OF THE SHEET. SURELY ONE OF THE FINEST USED BLOCKS IN EXISTENCE.
