Position 1L1E, huge margins to clear including bottom right corner interpane margin with centerline and dot, beautiful Plate 1 Early color, neat strike of Mobile circular datestamp, Very Fine and choice, the Neinken book notes this is a swing position and that a small break in the outer line at top developed as the plate wore away, making it a Type IIIa (Scott 8A), we detect what could be a tiny break but still identify this as Type II, ex Eubanks

EXTREMELY FINE GEM. AN ABSOLUTELY STUNNING USED BLOCK OF SIX OF THE 1851 ONE-CENT IMPERFORATE TYPE IV FROM THE BOTTOM RIGHT CORNER OF THE SHEET. SURELY ONE OF THE FINEST USED BLOCKS IN EXISTENCE.

Ex Vogel and Eubanks. Scott value as block of four and pair is $1,960.
