1c Blue, Ty. IV, Plate 1 Late Reconstruction (9). Complete reconstruction of Plate 1 Late, Left and Right panes, 200 stamps including 15 strips of three, five pairs and singles, several with sheet margins including Position 100R with huge corner margins (dry print), less than 20% of the stamps pen-cancelled, others with an array of hand cancels, some faults to be expected in such a large group, overall an impressive complete reconstruction, one P.F. certificate accompanies, Scott value as all singles, without taking into consideration the various recuts, triple transfer/one inverted positions, multiples, colored cancels or other plate varieties exceeds $20,000

3c Orange Brown, Ty. I, II (10-10A). More than 870 used stamps in a stockbook, with many overlapping and some pairs, almost all are plated and much of it is arranged on the pages by plate, including each of Plates 1E, 1i, 2E, 5E and 0, there are also pages with some miscellaneous plated stamps, wide range of plate varieties, the majority are handstamp cancels with many colored and pen cancels as well, while the condition is mixed as with any plating study there are many sound and Very Fine stamps, overall a very attractive and valuable accumulation

AN EXCEPTIONAL ASSEMBLAGE OF MORE THAN 870 PLATED 1851 3-CENT ORANGE BROWN STAMPS, FROM ALL FIVE PLATES THAT PRODUCED SCOTT 10-10A, WITH MANY CHOICE EXAMPLES.

The collector who consigned most of the 3c stamps in this sale is an advanced plater and there are also notes in this group relating to plate identifications by Dr. Chase (a few of the notes may refer to stamps taken out and offered individually). 3c 1851 Issue, Plate Summary (10-11A). 12 cards with 13 stamps prepared by Dr. Wilbur F. Amonette, showing a stamp from each of the 13 plates used to print Nos. 10-11A, summaries of characteristics and colors below each stamp, title card signed on back by Dr. Amonette, Very Fine, Scott value is only about $900 but the desirability of this lot is the opportunity to own a study assembled by the late Dr. Amonette, who was the prominent color expert of this issue as well as an advanced student of plating

Two complete reconstructions of the 30 positions from the left pane of Plate 3 that comprise the "Three Rows", which was the result of recutting that was required due to the unintentionally wide spacing between the eighth and ninth vertical rows and the narrow spacing between the ninth and tenth vertical rows, the first reconstruction was created by Dr. Carroll Chase and incudes stamps hinged onto cards as well as seven covers, with his plating notes, the second reconstruction is hinged onto a specialized album page, both reconstructions include only handstamp cancels and attractive stamps, a few flaws to be found but overall Fine-Very Fine or appear so, very desirable originating from the father of the 3c 1851 issue, Dr. Carroll Chase, Scott value as 200 No. 11A without premiums for any better positions
