Bold free frank on brown folded City of New York Post Office official notice to postmaster of Brookfield N.Y., relating to an order for blanks, dated May 27, 1847 at top with year printed inside frame, some minor wrinkling, Very Fine free frank from the creator of the New York Postmaster's Provisional and a nice frontispiece to a collection of that issue — this was sent when the No. 9X1 stamps were still current, a little more than five weeks before the first General Issue on July 1, 1847
