3c Scarlet, Reprint (41). Without gum as issued, brilliant color, choice centering for this difficult stamp
EXTREMELY FINE. THE 3-CENT 1857 REPRINT IS AN EXTREMELY DIFFICULT STAMP TO FIND THIS WELL-CENTERED AND IN SUCH PRISTINE CONDITION.
The Continental Bank Note Company made a new plate for the 3c 1857 Reprint, consisting of 100 subjects. 10,000 stamps were printed (100 impressions). 479 of the 3c were sold, and the remaining 9,521 were destroyed on July 23, 1884, by order of the Postmaster General.
Ex Sinkler and Hall. With 2001 P.F. certificate. Scott values this in the grade of Fine.
5c Orange Brown, Reprint (42). Without gum as issued, unusually choice centering for this, brilliant color, Extremely Fine, Scott values this in the grade of Fine, with 1990 P.F. certificate
10c Blue Green, Reprint (43). Without gum as issued, deep rich color and proof-like impression on bright paper, wide margins and essentially perfect centering
EXTREMELY FINE GEM. AN EXCEPTIONAL EXAMPLE OF ONE OF THE MOST CHALLENGING OF THE 1857-60 REPRINTS. VERY RARE IN THIS SUPERB QUALITY.
The Continental Bank Note Company made a new plate for the 10c 1857 Reprint, consisting of 100 subjects, using an original transfer roll. 10,000 stamps were printed (100 impressions). All are Type I stamps. 516 of the 10c were sold, and the remaining 9,484 were destroyed on July 23, 1884, by order of the Postmaster General.
Ex Drucker. This has not appeared at auction since our 2002 sale of the Drucker collection. It passed privately from the buyer in that sale to the Monterey collection. With 1984 P.F. certificate. Scott values this in the grade of Fine.
12c Greenish Black, Reprint (44). Without gum as issued, unusually wide margins, intense shade on bright white paper
FRESH AND VERY FINE EXAMPLE OF THE 12-CENT 1857 REPRINT.
Only 489 sold. With 1995 P.S.E. certificate. Scott values this in the grade of Fine.
24c Blackish Violet, Reprint (45). Without gum as issued, huge margins all around almost never seen on this issue, choice centering, intense shade and impression on bright paper
EXTREMELY FINE GEM. ARGUABLY THE FINEST EXAMPLE OF THE 24-CENT 1860 REPRINT IN EXISTENCE.
The Continental Bank Note Company reprinted the 24c stamp from the original plate of 200 subjects. 10,000 were printed (50 impressions). Only 479 were sold; the remaining 9,521 were destroyed on July 23, 1884. Due to the narrow spacing between subjects, most have perforations touching or into the design. This example has the widest margins we have encountered on this issue.

24c Blackish Violet, Reprint (45). Without gum as issued, deep rich color and proof-like impression, unusually choice centering with wide and balanced margins
EXTREMELY FINE EXAMPLE OF THE 24-CENT 1857 REPRINT.
Only 479 were sold. Of these, very few have perforations clear of the design on all four sides.

EXTREMELY FINE. A BEAUTIFUL EXAMPLE OF THE 30-CENT 1857 REPRINT.
The Continental Bank Note Company reprinted the 30c stamp from the original plate of 200 subjects. 10,000 were printed (50 impressions). Only 480 were sold; the remaining 9,520 were destroyed on July 23, 1884, by order of the Postmaster General.
Ex Coulter. With 1974 and 1992 P.F. certificates. Scott values this in the grade of Fine.
90c Deep Blue, Reprint (47). Without gum as issued, wide margins and choice centering, brilliant color and paper
EXTREMELY FINE. AN OUTSTANDING EXAMPLE OF THE 90-CENT 1857 REPRINT.
The Continental Bank Note Company reprinted the 90c stamp from the original plate of 200 subjects. 10,000 were printed (50 impressions). Only 454 were sold; the remaining 9,546 were destroyed on July 23, 1884, by order of the Postmaster General. Few surviving copies exist with the margin width of this stamp.
