CANAL ZONE, 1904, 8c on 50c Bister Brown (15). Slightly tropicalized original gum, h.r., with "PANAMA" shifted to the left causing double at right and part printed along perfs at left, rich color, Very Fine, Colman backstamp, only 450 were printed, Scott Catalogue notes "On No. 15 with original gum, the gum is almost always disturbed. Unused stamps are valued thus."

VERY FINE. AN EXTREMELY RARE BLOCK OF FOUR OF THE 1904 8-CENT ON 50-CENT BISTER BROWN CANAL ZONE ISSUE, SCOTT 15.
Only five panes of 100 are believed to have been issued, of which 50 copies have the "PANAMA" 15mm long. This is the first block we have offered since keeping computerized records with all "PANAMA" 13mm long.
Scott Catalogue notes "On No. 15 with original gum, the gum is almost always disturbed. Unused stamps are valued thus."

HAWAII, 1865, 5c Blue on Blue, "Hawaiian Postage" (21). Plate 9-A, Type X (Westerberg Position 2), unused (no gum), clear margins, Very Fine, with 2022 P.F. certificate
PHILIPPINES, 1901, $5.00 Dark Green, Magenta "O.B." Handstamp (225 var). Tied by "San Isidro NVA. Ecija, P.I. Aug. 31 4PM 1906" duplex cancel on piece, Very Fine and choice, scarce on piece with the full cancellation — the cover catalogues $12,500 — with 1989 P.F. certificate
PHILIPPINES, 1926, 16c Light Olive Green, Violet Overprint (C7). Slightly tropicalized original gum, rich color, typical centering for this issue, Fine, only 300 were overprinted, "W.B. Manila" backstamp, accompanied by original 1929 invoice from noted dealer Robinette
PHILIPPINES, 1899, 10c Blue, Special Delivery (E1). Mint N.H., with absolutely enormous bottom left corner sheet selvage, rich color, choice centering, Extremely Fine Gem, a massive stamp
PHILIPPINES, 1903, 1c Black on Buff, Postal Card, Ty. b Ovpt. (UX3; UPSS S3). Unused, with printed view on back, cigar factory handstamp at lower left, Very Fine and scarce, Scott value $1,250 as mint, $1,150 as used
PHILIPPINES, 1906, 2c Black on Buff, Postal Card, Ty. d Ovpt. (UX8; UPSS S8). Mint card, slight toning, Very Fine appearance, rare with only a handful known, most of the run was destroyed when the overprinted issues were withdrawn from sale, with 1973 P.F. certificate issued to Porter Venn
PUERTO RICO, 1899, 2c Carmine on Amber entire, Overprint Ty. 2 (U6; UPSS 7). Size 13, knife 74, watermark 13, typed address to Portland Me. but uncancelled, with "Sucesores de Roses & Co., Arecibo, Puerto Rico" printed corner card, slight toning at top and bottom, otherwise Very Fine and rare, only 500 were issued, the other example of this from the Venn collection was accompanied by note signed J.M. Bartels stating "In 1899 I bought from Roses & Co. 16 copies addressed like this, all that were saved except one or two used copies", today there are approximately nine known unused addressed entires out of the 16 described by Bartels, no fully mint entires are known, Sloane backstamp

U.S. Possessions Postal Stationery, Balance of the Porter Venn Estate. Extensive collection housed in five binders, both entires and postal cards, mostly unused and covering Canal Zone, Cuba, DWI, Hawaii, Philippines and Puerto Rico, each area with fairly comprehensive coverage without the errors or rare varieties, still some better items to be found, overall Very Fine and worth inspection
United Nations, Comprehensive Collection. Massive collection in ten thick Scott albums as well as a couple stock books and a banker's box of First Day cover albums, comprehensive coverage of New York, Geneva and Vienna in singles, blocks and imprint blocks, also First Day covers, some stationery and some proof material and other ephemera, condition is fresh throughout, Very Fine and impressive, viewing recommended as this collection is quite substantial
United Nations Personalized Sheets. Binder with comprehensive collection including many difficult to acquire, apparently largely complete less some errors or gum color differences, highlight of the collection is No. 884c error from 2005, strip of four with imprint selvage, one stamp 37c instead of 80c (Scott value for this item alone is $1,450), fresh and Very Fine, collector retail cost on these exceeded $5,500
U.N. Related Collection. Single album and stock book with a wonderful variety of material, including complete set of various versions of UNTEA, plus UNTEA stationery, West New Guinea, and West Irian (including No. 8 inverted ovpt., APS certificate); complete set of U.N.
