1c Blue, Ty. I (18). Position 76L12 with minor double transfer, intense shade and impression, choice centering with wide and balanced margins showing almost complete impression at top and bottom, full and clear strike of "PAID" cancel, Extremely Fine, a beautiful stamp, ex Neinken and Wagshal, with 2011 P.F. certificate, SCV $600
1c Blue, Ty. I (18). Plate 12, C Relief, extraordinary margins and centering, deep shade, grid cancel, Extremely Fine, with 1982 and 1997 P.F. certificates
1c Blue, Ty. II-I (20-18). Positions 87-88L12, horizontal pair, B-C Reliefs, left Type II, right Type I, choice centering, central strike of "New-York Aug. 14" circular datestamp, Extremely Fine, a beautiful Type I-II combination horizontal pair, which is only possible in the left pane of Plate 12, ex Neinken and Wagshal, with 2011 P.F. certificate, SCV $850
1c Blue, Ty. Ia (19). Bottom row F Relief position, remarkably choice centering with perfs almost entirely clear of the bottom plumes, deep rich color, light strike of blue circular datestamp, bright paper
EXTREMELY FINE. A BEAUTIFUL USED EXAMPLE OF THE PERFORATED 1857 ONE-CENT TYPE Ia, WHICH CLEARLY SHOWS THE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE TYPE.
Type Ia, imperforate and perforated, only comes from 18 positions in the bottom rows of the right and left panes of Plate 4. Due to difficulties in perforating sheets from Plate 4, many examples of Type Ia have perforations cutting into the design at bottom, which destroys the defining characteristic of the type. The example offered here, with choice centering and showing the full design, is very rare. The blue circular datestamp cancel is also very desirable—the Scott Catalogue lists blue cancel but with a dash in value.
With 2012 P.F. certificate.
1c Blue, Ty. II, Major Plate Crack (20 var). Position 2L2, rich color which clearly shows the lightening bolt "Big Crack", very lightly cancelled by circular datestamp
EXTREMELY FINE. A BEAUTIFUL USED EXAMPLE OF THE PLATE 2 MAJOR CRACK FROM THE TOP ROW.
The fracture on Plate 2 began above Position 2 on the left pane and continued downward in a "lightning bolt" jagged line across Positions 12-13L, 23L and at a later stage just into 33L. It was probably caused by an inherent flaw created during the manufacture of the steel plate.
With 2017 P.F. certificate.
1c Blue, Ty. II (20). Positions 64-66R2, horizontal strip of three, remarkably precise centering for a multiple from Plate 2, which produced both imperforate and perforated stamps, rich color, lightly cancelled by circular datestamps, Extremely Fine, very scarce in this quality, with 2008 P.F. certificate, SCV $1,050
1c Blue, Ty. II (20). Plate 12, B Relief, beautiful color and choice centering, red grid cancel, Extremely Fine, with 2007 P.F. certificate
1c Blue, Ty. IIIa-III-IIIa (22-21-22). Positions 43-45L4, horizontal combination strip of three, center stamp Type III, beautiful color and impression, exceptionally well-centered, lightly struck circular datestamps
VERY FINE. RARE AND HANDSOME USED 1857 ONE-CENT STRIP FROM PLATE 4, CONTAINING A CHOICE TYPE III WITH WIDE BREAKS.

1c Blue, Ty. IIIa (22). Plate 4, unusually choice centering, deep rich color, cancelled by "U.S. Mail/City Delivery/1 Oct. 19" New York City carrier department circular datestamp, Extremely Fine, with 1990 and 2008 P.F. certificates, SCV $585

1c Blue, Ty. IV (23). Recut once at top and bottom, unusually precise centering for this challenging perforated issue, lightly cancelled by circular datestamp, Very Fine, with 2001 P.F. certificate
1c Blue, Ty. IV (23). Positions 1/21/31R1L, vertical strip of three, 1R recut once at bottom, 21R recut once at top and bottom, 31R recut once at top and twice at bottom, with interpane margin and centerline at left, unusually bright color, bold strikes of Philadelphia circular datestamp

1c Blue, Ty. V (24). Superb centering, dark shade and impression, perfect strike of vivid red New York City carrier department circular datestamp, accompanying certificate notes "scissors separated perforations" but they are intact so this comment seems gratuitous, Extremely Fine, with 2012 P.F. certificate, SCV $60

EXTREMELY FINE. AN OUTSTANDING USED BLOCK OF THE ONE-CENT 1857 TYPE V ISSUE—ARGUABLY THE FINEST QUALITY BLOCK EXTANT.
Ex Neinken and Wagshal. SCV $932 as two blocks of four and a pair.
1c Blue, Ty. V (24). Block of four, exceptionally precise centering, bold strike of circular datestamp and part of Barcelona (Spain) circular datestamp at bottom, Extremely Fine, a very scarce used block and in magnificent condition, with 1999 and 2005 P.S.E. certificates, SCV $425
