Back message telling Noble Desfontaines (a lawyer) that at a meeting held by the insurgents, he was elected to become the Attorney General of the Provisional Government. Signed “Cabinet Maker” - Desfontaines did not accept.
Content: “Sir, I beg to inform you that at a meeting held today you have been chosen to fill the host of Attorney General in the new ministry. Will you please inform your supporters, if you accept the appointment? Yours Truly, Cabinet Maker. Honolulu 9th Sept. 1892.”
This is interesting as DesFontaines was new to Hawaii, a scholar and shown no interest in joining the Provisional Government and did not. But to send a Postcard is quite interesting. The term "Cabinet Maker" may have been a member for someone helping to draw out a "Cabinet" for the new Provisional Government.

A.A.C. is the daughter in law of Mrs. Samuel Morrill Carter (Harriet Layman). S.M. Carter is from one of the oldest families in Hawaii that are NOT missionaries. His father was Joseph Oliver Carter who was a commercial sea captain who settled in Hawaii and became a legal advisor to Queen Lili'uokalani and holder of several royal estates.
Back Message: A.A.C. sends a post card to her sister in law's address, Kate Layman Pattie Carter (Kitely), in Seattle. The message is in response to a letter sent by her mother and she is responding on current news of the family and friends. Mentioned in the letter is "Aunt Kate and Uncle Robt" which seems to be abbrevation of her Aunt Catherine and Uncle Robert Lewers. Robert Lewers was a carpenter and owner of a lumber company in Honolulu - Lewers & Cooke Ltd. A.A.C. also mentions her son "Sam" named after her father-in-law
