VERY FINE AND CHOICE. A BEAUTIFUL ORIGINAL-GUM EXAMPLE OF THE RARE $5.00 PROPRIETARY ON VIOLET PAPER. A GREAT CONDITION RARITY FOR THE ISSUE.
Examples of the $5.00 Proprietary Issue almost invariably have faults, due to the stamp's large size and the nature of its use. The example offered here, with full original gum and with only a tiny negligible corner crease, is probably the finest extant.

$5.00 Green & Black on Violet Paper, Proprietary (RB10a). Outstanding centering, wonderfully rich color and beautifully etched impression, July 1878 manuscript cancel, the only imperfections are two miniscule corner perf creases at top right and top left, they are completely irrelevant given the remarkable preservation and overall condition of this stamp

Most examples of the $5.00 have faults (many quite severe), due to the stamp’s large size and the nature of its use. The example offered here, with its outstanding physical attributes and essentially sound condition (the perf creases are almost undetectable), is one of the finest extant.

Revenues, First, Second and Third Issues Collection. First Issue contains imperforate, part-perforate, and perforated stamps and is generally lacking only the highest cataloging items, Second Issue complete to $50.00 (top values with non-cut cancels), Third Issue complete, plus two 2c Inverted Centers, higher cataloging imperforate stamps include No. R79a (A.P.S. certificate, slightly cut in at top) and No. R100a (large margins but with repaired vertical crease), majority is attractive appearing stamps, some of which have small faults, overall a useful and quite saleable collection
Revenues, Documentary Stamp Collection, 1894-1963. On Scott pages, most of the value in the high-dollar values of the "Reds", with individual catalogue values to about $550, many in the $100-$400 range, a large number with handstamp or manuscript cancels, a few small faults, but overall Fine-Very Fine, we carefully catalogued the collection (counting even one staple hole as "perfin") and came up with a Scott value of over $10,000
Revenues, Stock Transfer Stamp Collection. On stock pages, value in the high-dollar "Green" stamps, with individual catalog values to $650, many in the $100-$400 range, a good number with the more desirable handstamp or manuscript cancels, some small faults, majority Fine-Very Fine, also includes a few Future Delivery stamps, we carefully catalogued it (counting anything with even a single staple hole as "perf initials") and came up with a Scott value in excess of $9,000
Revenues Collection. Extensive collection on Scott album pages, covering nearly all issues and good depth in some, First Issue contains some trimmed stamps but the most dangerous fakes have been removed, perforated includes R102c, Second Issue with R129-R131, Third Issue with R149-R150, Documentary with a few better including R189 and R194, other issues thru Hunting Permits and also some Savings stamps, some flaws to be expected but overall Fine collection
Revenues, Documentary Stamp Collection. Nearly all of the value in 19th Century, First Issue with 50c value in both paper colors, and a few better rouletted stamps, condition slightly mixed, Fine-Very Fine appearance
Stock Certificates. Well over 200 mainly from the early 20th Century, most centered around south Texas, a large number are from the Galveston-Houston Electric Company, many with revenue stamps affixed, Federal Stock Transfer or Documentary, also several State revenues, mainly Texas and Massachusetts, typical condition for these, offered for the first time in the philatelic market
