3c Rose, A. Grill (79). Clearly-defined grill, with perforations that are far better than normally seen on this issue, one pulled perf at bottom noted on certificate, circle of Vs cancel, slightly faded, otherwise Very Fine, with 2013 P.F. and 1995 and 2020 P.S.E. certificates
3c Rose, C. Grill (83). Clearly-defined grill easily visible due to placement of cork cancel, on piece with "Charleston S.C. Dec. 11" circular datestamp, Fine and attractive, with 1994 P.F. certificate
2c Black, D. Grill (84). Showing double transfer at right, choice centering for this difficult issue, deep shade on bright paper, target cancel
VERY FINE AND CHOICE. A BEAUTIFUL USED EXAMPLE OF THE 1867 2-CENT D GRILL. A DIFFICULT STAMP TO FIND IN SUCH CHOICE CONDITION.
With 1984 P.F. and 2011 P.S.E. certificates (VF 80). Scott Catalogue states that the value for No. 84 is for a stamp in Fine grade.
3c Rose, D. Grill (85). Nicely centered, attractive color, clear grill points, lightly cancelled, nibbed perf at left, otherwise Fine, with 2018 P.S.E. certificate (VG-F 60)

2c Black, Z. Grill (85B). Intense shade, clear grill, bold strike of circle of wedges cancel, Very Fine, with 1987 and 2003 P.F. certificates
3c Rose, Z. Grill (85C). Wide margins, sharp grill points, crisp impression nicely contrasted by blue crossroads cancel, small tear at bottom right, Extremely Fine appearance, with 2000 P.S.E. certificate

1c Blue, E. Grill (86). Wide margins with right straddle-pane margin showing large part of adjoining stamp, rich color, clearly-defined grill, bold cork cancel, Very Fine, with 1985 P.F. and 2019 P.S.E. certificates
2c Black, E. Grill (87). Horizontal pair, deep shade, quartered cork cancel, wide and balanced margins, Very Fine and choice, with 1991 P.F. certificate
2c Black, E. Grill, Diagonal Half Used as 1c (87a). Bottom left half as part of vertical pair with single 2c, tied by not quite readable manuscript postmark with "Jany. 7" date, on orange buff cover to James Creek, Pa., single of pair placed slightly over top edge of cover, otherwise very fresh, Fine and scarce, with 1990 P.F. certificate
3c Rose, E. Grill (88). Brilliant color, clearly-defined grill, face-free strike of blue quartered cork and also part of matching circular datestamp, Jumbo margins, Extremely Fine Gem, a phenomenal stamp in every respect, with 2012 P.S.E. certificate (XF-Superb 95 Jumbo), this is the highest grade awarded to a Scott 88 in any condition (used or unused) and the only example to achieve this grade, with 2018 P.F. certificate
3c Rose, E. Grill (88). Rich color nicely complemented by blue cork cancel, well-proportioned margins, fresh and Extremely Fine, with 1994 and 2019 P.S.E. certificates (XF 90)
10c Green, E. Grill, "TAG" Double Transfer (89 var). Bright shade, unusually choice centering, New York circular datestamp leaves the double transfer clearly visible, Extremely Fine, with 1987 and 2011 P.F. certificates (XF 90 XQ), the "XQ" stands for "Extraordinary Quality"
10c Green, E. Grill (89). Jumbo margins with left straddle-pane margin with part of adjoining stamp at left, unobtrusive cancel, Extremely Fine and attractive, with 2011 P.S.E. certificate
12c Black, E. Grill (90). Jumbo margins and near perfect centering, beautiful crisp shade and impression shows the intricate detail of the engraving, light red cork cancel
EXTREMELY FINE GEM. A SUPERB USED EXAMPLE OF THE 1868 12-CENT E GRILL, GRADED XF-SUPERB 95 JUMBO BY P.S.E. -- THIS IS THE HIGHEST GRADED SCOTT 90 WITH A COLORED CANCEL. ONLY ONE STAMP HAS GRADED HIGHER.
2002 P.F. and 2006 P.S.E. certificates (XF-Superb 95 Jumbo) no longer accompany. With 1996 P.F. and 2019 P.S.E. certificates (XF-Superb 95 Jumbo). This is the only Scott 90 graded XF-Superb 95 Jumbo by P.S.E. Only one has graded higher -- the Superb 98 stamp with a black cancel that was offered in our sales of the "Hanover", Morton and Myerson collections.
15c Black, E. Grill (91). Deep shade, tied by grid and red "Boston Paid Sep. 22" circular datestamp on small piece, Very Fine and choice, with 1991 P.F. certificate
15c Black, E. Grill (91). Bright shade and crisp impression, black grid and part of red cancel at right, Very Fine and choice, with 2003 P.F. and 2018 P.S.E. certificates
1c Blue, F. Grill (92). Bright shade and paper, well-balanced margins, segmented cork cancel, Extremely Fine, with 1988 and 2021 P.F. certificates (VF-XF 85)
2c Black, F. Grill (93). Essentially perfect centering, clearly-struck "(Pai)d All" straightline handstamp, bright and crisp
EXTREMELY FINE GEM. A SUPERB EXAMPLE OF THE 1868 2-CENT F GRILL WITH A CHOICE STRIKE OF A BETTER CANCEL.
This issue is exceedingly difficult to find with the attributes of the example offered here -- wide margins, perfect centering, impression and a "Paid All" cancel. With 2014 P.F. certificate (XF-Superb 95).
3c Red, F. Grill (94). Bright shade nicely complemented by blue target cancel which nicely shows the grill, wide and balanced margins, Extremely Fine Gem, with 2009 P.S.E. certificate (XF-Superb 95), only six grade higher
5c Brown, F. Grill (95). Crisp impression, light strike of cork cancel, Extremely Fine, with 2010 P.S.E. certificate (VF-XF 85)
5c Brown, F. Grill (95). Rich color, barely cancelled, tiny tear at bottom left, Fine appearance, with 1989 P.F. certificate
10c Yellow Green, F. Grill (96). Deep rich color on bright paper Jumbo margins, cork cancel, Extremely Fine, with 1995 and 2010 P.F. certificates (XF 90 XQ), the "XQ" stands for "Extraordinary Quality", we are unsure why this was not graded at least 90J
15c Black, F. Grill (98). Detailed impression on bright paper, neat target cancel, well-proportioned margins, Extremely Fine, with 1988 P.F. certificate
24c Gray Lilac, F. Grill (99). Detailed impression, well-balanced margins, most recent certificate notes two nibbed perfs at left, otherwise Extremely Fine, with 2003 P.F. and 2018 P.S.E. certificates
30c Orange, F. Grill (100). Clearly-defined grill, vivid color, bold strike of crossroads cancel, Extremely Fine, with 1988 P.F. and 2019 P.S.E. certificates (VF-XF 85)
