3c Pink (64). Original gum, virtually perfect centering, bright fresh color in true Pink shade, most recent certificate notes reperfed at right
EXTREMELY FINE APPEARING ORIGINAL-GUM EXAMPLE OF THE 3-CENT PINK.
The nature of the ink used to print the 3c Pink shade is such that over the course of time, with exposure to light and other adverse elements, the color tends to oxidize or lose its vibrancy. This is a desirable example with vibrant color.
Ex Golin. With 1992 P.F. and 2024 P.S.E. certificates, the former as sound.

3c Rose (65). Cancelled by bold strike of negative "Lincoln" and Stars in Circle fancy cancel of Albany N.Y. (Skinner-Eno LC-NP 15), diagonal crease at bottom right ending in small tear, still Very Fine strike of this desirable fancy cancel, the New York State Comptroller in 1866 was Thomas Hillhouse and the Albany postmaster in 1866 was George Dawson, both were ardent pro-Union Republicans, ex Saadi, with 1995 P.F. certificate
3c Rose, Imperforate (65P5; formerly 65c). Bottom imprint and plate no. 11 block of eight, unused (no gum), ample margins other sides, rich color with slight paper mottling as normally seen on these imperforates, some wrinkling, pos. 7 small thin spot
VERY FINE. AN EXTREMELY RARE PLATE BLOCK OF THE IMPERFORATE 3-CENT 1861 ISSUE.
The imperforate 3c 1861's on stamp paper are normally encountered without gum, though some original-gum examples do survive. Pairs are readily available and we have offered a handful of blocks of four. However, plate blocks are extremely rare. Listed but unpriced in Scott as a plate block. Scott value as four pairs.

5c Brown Yellow (67a). Rich color nicely complemented by red "Boston Br. Pkt. paid Aug. 21" circular datestamp, Fine, ex Herzog and Drews
12c Black (69). Extraordinary margins and centering, intense shade and impression, blue and red cancels, Extremely Fine Gem, ex Dr. Morris, with 1983 and 1994 P.F. certificates
24c Red Lilac (70). Bright color, well-centered, New York Foreign Mail 4-Point Star in Circle cancel, fresh and Very Fine, with 2023 P.F. certificate
24c Brown Lilac (70a). Rich color, precise centering, light red cancel, Extremely Fine, a pretty stamp, with 2002 P.F. certificate
24c Brown Lilac (70a). Deep rich color on bright paper, large grid cancel, Extremely Fine, with 2001 P.S.E. certificate
24c Steel Blue (70b). Beautiful color, neat strike of 7-bar grid cancel and part of red cancel at lower left, well-balanced margins, Extremely Fine, a pretty stamp, with 1989 P.F. certificate
30¢ Orange (71). Original gum, lightly hinged, vibrant color, unusually choice centering, three expertly repaired perfs at right noted on most recent certificate, otherwise Extremely Fine, with 1995 P.F. (as right stamp in horizontal pair) and 2024 P.S.E. certificates
30c Orange (71). Horizontal strip of five, bright color, neat blue circle of wedges cancels, end stamps faint vertical creases, minor perf separations, Fine-Very Fine, ex Gilbart, Scott value as two pairs and a single with blue cancels
2c Black (73). Original gum, single hinge mark, outstanding centering with uncharacteristically wide margins, rich shade and crisp impression
EXTREMELY FINE GEM. A BEAUTIFUL ORIGINAL-GUM 1863 2-CENT "BLACK JACK", GRADED XF-SUPERB 95 BY P.S.E. - THE HIGHEST GRADE AWARDED.
With 2004 P.F. and P.S.E. certificates (latter XF-Superb 95). This is the highest grade awarded and it is shared by only five others.
5c Red Brown (75). Unused (regummed), lovely warm color, Very Fine, very scarce with such choice centering, with 1975 and 1990 P.F. certificates as original gum, with 2024 P.S.E. certificate as regummed
5c Brown (76). Original gum, lightly hinged, deep rich color and proof-like impression, remarkably fresh paper with long full perfs all around, Very Fine and choice, a pretty stamp, with 2002 P.F. and 2014 P.S.A.G. certificates (latter OGph, VF 80)
15c Black (77). Original gum, intense shade and impression, centered to bottom left, Very Good, scarce in original-gum condition, with 2020 P.S.A.G. certificate
