2c Red Brown, H. Grill (135). Lovely color, face free strike of cork cancel, wide and balanced margins, Extremely Fine Gem, with 2004 P.S.E. certificate (XF-Superb 95), only eight grade higher
6c Carmine, H. Grill (137). Rich color, clear grill, two strikes of circular datestamp, Extremely Fine, with 1988 and 2016 P.F. certificates (XF 90)
7c Vermilion, H. Grill (138). Brilliant color, well-proportioned margins, cork cancel, Extremely Fine, with 2006 P.F. certificate (XF 90)

10c Brown, H. Grill (139). Clear grill points, fresh color, light red quartered cork and black cancels, Extremely Fine, ex Dr. Puliafito, with 1994 and 2004 P.F. certificates
12c Dull Violet, H. Grill (140). Faint but evident grill points, deep rich color nicely contrasted by blue target and red transit cancels as well as part of blue circular datestamp, well-proportioned margins, small corner crease at top right
EXTREMELY FINE APPEARANCE. THE 1870 12-CENT NATIONAL BANK NOTE GRILLED ISSUE IS AN EXTREMELY DIFFICULT STAMP TO FIND IN SUCH CHOICE CONDITION, ESPECIALLY WITH TWO COLORED CANCELLATIONS.
Ex Drucker. With 1969 note from Lester Brookman opining that this is a grilled stamp. With 1983 (not noting corner crease) and 2003 P.F. certificates. Scott value with premium for both cancellations.
15c Orange, H. Grill (141). Rich color, cork cancel at center and red cancel at lower left, well-centered for this difficult issue, Very Fine, with 1984 and 2005 P.F. certificates
90c Carmine, H. Grill (144). Deep rich color, clear grill, cork cancel

1c Ultramarine, I. Grill (134A). Clear grill points, Jumbo margins and choice centering, bright color, Star in Circle fancy cancel, fresh and Extremely Fine, very unusual to find a Bank Note grilled issue with this size margins and a fancy cancel -- especially the scarcer I Grill -- with 2016 P.F. certificate (XF 90 Jumbo), by way of comparison the highest grade awarded by P.S.E. is a 90 (three at that grade)
7c Vermilion, I. Grill (138A). Horizontal pair, bright color, tied by corks on piece with Batavia Ill. circular datestamp, stamps with faint internal crease, Very Fine appearance, a scarce multiple of the 7c I Grill, with 1982 P.F. and 2019 P.S.E. certificates, Scott value as singles
2c Red Brown (146). Detailed impression on bright paper, unusually choice centering, circle of Vs cancel, Extremely Fine Gem, with 2007 P.S.E. certificate (XF-Superb 95)
6c Carmine (148). Intense shade and impression, gorgeous centering, bold cork cancel, Extremely Fine Gem, with 2007 P.S.E. certificate (XF-Superb 95), only five grade higher (three are 95J), we have not offered any at higher grades since 2012, and this is the first example graded 95 that we have offered since 2015
7c Vermilion (149). Unused (no gum), with left selvage, brilliant color, Jumbo margins, Extremely Fine, with 1984 P.F. and 2019 P.S.E. certificates (VF-XF 85 Jumbo)
15c Bright Orange (152). Bright color, well-balanced margins, bold strike of target cancel, Extremely Fine, with 1989 and 2003 P.F. certificate
24c Purple (153). Tied by blue segmented cork cancel, matching "Jeffersonville Ind. Oct. 4 6AM" circular datestamp on piece, Extremely Fine, with 1992 P.F. certificate
30c Black (154). Intense shade nicely complemented by red New York Foreign Mail Geometric cancel (Weiss ST-8PI), fresh and Extremely Fine, with 2008 and 2014 P.F. certificates (XF 90 XQ), the "XQ" stands for "Extraordinary Quality"
30c Black (154). Bright shade and paper, wide margins, bold cork cancel, Very Fine and choice, with 1994 P.S.E. and 2013 P.F. certificates
90c Carmine (155). Jumbo margins, deep rich color on bright paper, bold cork cancels, Extremely Fine, with 2002 P.F. and 2011 P.S.E. certificates (XF 90 Jumbo)
