1c-90c 1861-66 Designs, Atlanta Trial Color Proofs (102TC4-111TC4). Complete set of the Scarlet color, large margins to full, radiant color, Very Fine, ex Ambassador Middendorf
1c Blue, Re-Issue (102). Deep rich color and proof-like impression on bright paper, gorgeous centering with unusually wide and balanced margins, light strike of Mass. circular datestamp cancel with 1883 yeardate at center
EXTREMELY FINE GEM. A SUPERB USED EXAMPLE OF THE ONE-CENT 1861 RE-ISSUE. THIS IS ONE OF THE FINEST IN EXISTENCE.
The 1c Re-Issue was printed from a new plate of 100 subjects, compared to the original plate of 200 in two panes. 10,000 stamps were printed (100 impressions). 3,195 of the 1c were sold, by far the largest quantity of any denomination of the set. The remaining 6,805 were destroyed on July 16, 1884.

3c Brown Red, Re-Issue (104). Unused (no gum), rich color, perfs scissors separated but intact, Very Fine, only 465 sold, with 1958 P.F. certificate
5c Brown, Re-Issue (105). Original gum, h.r., rich color, perfs scissors separated at bottom but intact, Very Fine, only 672 sold
10c Green, Re-Issue (106). Large part original gum, deep rich color, few short perfs at top, two red spots on back, Very Fine, only 451 sold
12c Black, Re-Issue (107). Original gum, choice centering with Jumbo margins all around, crisp color and detailed impression
EXTREMELY FINE GEM. A HUGE-MARGINED ORIGINAL-GUM EXAMPLE OF THE 12-CENT 1861 RE-ISSUE.
The 12c Re-Issue was printed from a new plate of 100 subjects, compared to the original plate of 200 in two panes. 10,000 stamps were printed (100 impressions). Only 389 of the 12c were sold; the remaining 9,611 were destroyed on July 16, 1884.
