Dec. 2, 1840" circular datestamp on folded letter carried by favor from Goderich to London, Canada, red "Paid" straightline struck twice next to "A.p. 50 (+) Steam 50 (+) Br. 1/6 (=) 6/6" for prepaid double rates including double 25c freight money charge, backstamped with "Liverpool Ship Letter" straightline and Jan. 12, 1841 red transit, "1/4" collect, Very Fine, this is the second latest recorded freight money cover from Canada, this fee could be collected in Canada on Canadian mail to the U.K. for only two years before the Postmaster General in London ordered a cease to its collection, which was implemented on December 4, 1840 -- two days before this cover was posted at London, Upper Canada
