10c Green, Ty. I (31). Horizontal pair and single, used with 3c Dull Red, Ty. III (26), cancelled by red grids, matching "Hartford Ct. Sep. 14" (1858) circular datestamp on cover to Shanghai, China, sender's routing instructions "Overland Mail via Southampton England" and "Paid Africa", red London transit, magenta "28" credit and "1d" colonial rate handstamp, Hong Kong (24 Nov.) backstamp, 3c perfs trimmed at left prior to use and crease at top right, 10c stamps barely affected from placement near edge of cover, still Fine, an extremely rare use of the 10c Type I stamps on a cover to China, this is the first we have offered since keeping computerized records, the pair and single alone off cover catalogue $3,500.00
