10c Map, Air Post (C7). Used with China, 1923, 10c Blue, Junk (258), tied together by Chinese circular datestamp on "Dollar Steamship Line, Orient and Round the World" corner card cover to Bronxville N.Y., backflap with red and black flag design and "On Board S. S. President Pierce", manuscript "President Pierce" in sender's hand below corner card, backstamped with "Chicago, Ill. Air Mail, Jul. 8 4PM 1927" duplex datestamp, New York receiving datestamp (July 9), minor soiling, Very Fine and an extraordinary use, both stamps were affixed and cancelled with the China datestamp when this was brought from Shanghai to the U.S. on board the S.S. President Pierce, it entered the U.S. post office and was postmarked at Chicago before being carried by airmail service to New York, the 10c Junk stamp paid Chinese postage and the 10c Map stamp paid the airmail postage -- a legitimate combination of stamps on a piece of mail carried by ship, train and plane
