Sale 1223, Lot 8083, Hawaii and Pacific IslandsHAWAII, Daily Bulletin. Three manuscript pages headlined "The Daily Bulletin", dated September 15, 16 and 20, 1873, each contains little snippets of news such as "We hear it reported that the trustees of the Hilo boarding school are about to have made an offer of that institution to the Board of Education...", first ends with "We shall await rather anxiously further news from Honolulu as regards the 'revolt' of the Army", toned, soiled and otherwise a bit beaten up but mostly legible, a fascinating first hand account of daily life written by Henry M. Whitney, Whitney was forced to sell the Pacific Commercial Advertiser newspaper, forerunner of the Honolulu Advertiser, and soon after he started a hand-written, single-sheet daily news bulletin, the first printed edition launched Feb. 1, 1882, and existed in various names until 2010 when it was merged with the Honolulu Advertiser in a new paper called the Honolulu Star-Advertiser
