Block of four, brilliant color, tied by "San Francisco Cal." registry ovals and used with three different denominations of Samoan stamps on registered tissue paper cover to Camden N.J., Samoa stamps tied by "Apia, Samoa Mar. 24, 1897" double-circle datestamps, San Francisco and receiving markings, block affixed over top edge of cover which has been refolded, Very Fine appearance, the 8c registry fee was paid by the U.S. postage as required, reported to be one of only three examples of the 2c used in combination with Samoan postage, ex "Whitpain"
