7c Vermilion, H. Grill (138). Three singles, vivid color and strong grill impressions, used with 3c Green (158), tied by "New Orleans La. Jan. 21 4PM" (1874) duplex datestamp and quartered cork cancels on blue folded letter to Mont-Saint-Leger, France, red "New York P.D. 6 Feb. 4" credit datestamp, red London "Paid" transit datestamp (Feb. 14) and "PD" oval, Calais transit datestamp, French transit and receiving backstamps, a few gum toned perf tips, Very Fine, the 6c credit indicates 10c British Mail rate applied, the 24c prepayment does not fit with the correct progression (16c, 20c, 26c, 36c), one of the few covers extant with a multiple franking of the 7c 1870 Grilled Issue, ex "Andromeda", signed Ashbrook, with clear 2014 P.S.E. certificate
