2c Red Brown (146). Horizontal strip of three cancelled by target and tied by "Hurley N.Y. Jan. 9" (1871) circular datestamp on Seymour and Blair illustrated overall campaign cover to Wurttemberg, Germany, underpaid 1c for the 7c NGU Direct rate (this service was suspended due to the Franco-Prussian War and revived in late 1870), "INSUFFICIENTLY PAID" straightline and "New York Jan. 11" backstamp, blue crayon "5-1/2" (sgr), "6" (sgr) and "20" (kr) rates, transit and receiving backstamps, most of backflap removed, a bit toned, nonetheless Fine and quite an unusual use to Germany, ex "Andromeda"
