(Mead's) Post Office City Despatch, New York N.Y., 2c Black on Green Glazed (40L2). Huge margins all around, uncancelled on Jan. 29, 1847 folded letter to Chautauqua Corners N.Y., red "New-York Feb. 1" circular datestamp with matching "10" in circle handstamp, manuscript "Chg" notation, stamp with just a bit of rubbing in the top left margin, slightly toned file folds not affecting the stamp or markings, Very Fine, used during the brief period of Mead's ownership (the post was taken over by Cummings & Wright in March 1847)
