Ample to large margins, small closed tear and small scrape, cancelled by "Paid" (not tied) on cover addressed simply to "New York", red "New-York Oct. 31 2cts" integral drop-rate circular datestamp, the sender's signature at lower left and U.S. country designation in address indicate British origin, probably bootlegged into New York City and given to Cole's, without a street address Cole's had to bring it to the post office, small ink erosion hole at left of cover, Fine appearance and unusual, ex Golden, with 2001 P.F. certificate
