Clear strike of oval datestamp (Thomas HAL-100) on 3c Red on Buff Nesbitt entire (U10) with Wells, Fargo & Co. frank, addressed to San Francisco, overall dampstaining, repaired and silked, otherwise Fine, ex Lyons, a very rare handstamp with only approximately five recorded, Hall & Allen were bankers and gold assayers at Dutch Flat, their express lasted only a short period of time in 1864, they worked closely with or were agents for Wells, Fargo & Co.
