Sale 1315, Lot 5025, 1847 Issue

10c Black (2). Positions 76-77R1, horizontal pair showing misaligned entries, large to full margins, fine impression, light strikes of red grid cancels and faint trace of ink at bottom right, tiny horizontal scissors-cut at top left just touches frameline, still Extremely Fine pair, the subject of misaligned entries was addressed by Wade Saadi in the August 2010 Chronicle, he surmises that the reason only five U.S. stamps prior to 1870 had framelines is because the siderographer had difficulty aligning the entries and, therefore, designs with ornamental frames produced a better appearance, ex Sweet, Wall and Mirsky, with 2000 P.F. and 2017 P.S.E. certificates (latter F 70 due to scissors-cut)
