1c Vermilion (J29). Original gum, barest trace of hinging, brilliant color on bright paper, sharp impression which is unusual for this difficult issue, choice centering with wide margins

EXTREMELY FINE ORIGINAL-GUM EXAMPLE OF THE ONE-CENT VERMILION 1894 UNWATERMARKED BUREAU POSTAGE DUE.

Ex "Scarsdale". With 1988, 2000 P.F. and 2006 P.S.E. certificates (OGph, VF-XF 85). This is the highest grade awarded to an unused Scott J29, with only one other hinged stamp equal. The highest grade for Mint N.H. is VF 80. SCV $2,750.
