Sale 1376, Lot 754, 1879-88 American Bank Note Company Issues, 1890-93 Issue (Scott 185-229)

6c Deep Brown Red (208a). Mint N.H., deep rich color and proof-like impression on bright paper, choice centering and margins

EXTREMELY FINE. A VERY RARE SOUND AND CENTERED MINT NEVER-HINGED EXAMPLE OF THE 6-CENT 1882 LINCOLN ISSUE IN THE DEEP BROWN RED SHADE.

With 2006 P.S.E. certificate (XF 90). This issue is exceedingly difficult to obtain in Mint N.H. condition with decent centering. Only nine are graded by P.S.E. and this XF 90 is equaled by only one other, and exceeded by only one other (at 95). SCV $1,900.
